Pvp can be fun. Pvp can be frustrating. Control is one of the most frustrating things about Pvp in D2. Hear me out.
Bungie have made such a thing for some reason, as I don’t actually see any reward or gain for it, of KDA. Yes having a positive match is important and nice. But this in Control can lead to issues.
1) The player base who believe if their KDA is 5.00 their YouTube, twitch channel with 1 follower will blow up into a sensation and they’ll become an overnight millionaire. As a result of this fantasy they won’t ever be seen near a zone point. Thusly there are fewer of the six members of the team attempting to capture and hold zones.
2) The mentality of the above. So should you ever question this type of player as to why they don’t capture zones the usual response goes something like “ Hahah who cares about zones, I got 30 kills fu*#in virgin, git gud”.
However the limited vision of the amoeba in question hasn’t yet come to the realisation that the match was lost.
3) Now should you point out that the match was lost you will get a similar reply to point 2.
4) I gave up in the wait for them to come to the realisation. That the more zones you have. The more points you get per kill. You don’t need a doctorate in quantum mechanics to realise that.
In the last iron banner, there were several matches that once finished didn’t even show the zones captured stat.
Bungle had a stat tracker for kills. KDA. And various other things, motes deposited in gambit for example. But there’s no zones captured stat. So why was this stat disappearing from an event that even provides a bounty for pinnacle gear that requires zone captures. Do the “git gud” crew suddenly realise in IB that the odd zone hear and there may be worth it.
Finishing a losing game with 6,7,8 zones captured and at least two “team mates” with 0. Frustrating.
