Hand cannon range in crucible is broken.

There is no way I should be mapped by hand cannons. If I’m at scout or pulse range I should win EVERY time. But no, it’s 1,2, sometimes 3 and I’m dead.

      • Scout rifles .80 -1.00 ttk Pulse rifles .67 - .93 ttk 140 hand cannon .87 120 hand cannon 1.00 120s have always had range. 140s arent hitting you at scout and pulse ranges. Stop being dramatic. You have a faster ttk. Hit your shots.

          • breeze1075 You make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

The Last Word 10. Arbalest See a pattern here? Only two of these are not handcannons. High end pvp like comp and trials are dominated by them, and this problem proceeds into casual play. The problem isn't the maps anymore, since bungie clearly does not want to add larger ones, we need to balance range according to the maps we already have (besides maybe the moon maps which are just shotgun games). Right now handcannons are the outlier in terms of range capabilities. Anyone who says they are not is honestly delusional and not worth taking seriously. The evidence is so clear cut that it cannot be ignored.

                  • Hit your shots. Pulses have a faster Base ttk than any HC not named TLW. It’s up to you to use it within optimal range. 150’ Scouts also have a faster ttk. 120’s are the exception. 50 meters is a little much and should be dialed back a bit but the point still remains. 150 Scouts have a much faster ttk.                     • 120s are the true problem. 1 tap at sniper range and anyone thats says nah is an idiot. Every game all day. At most its 2 shots, at a range snipers might need 2 or pulse 3 or 4 bursts if your lucky. BROKEN IS AN UNDERSTATMENT

                      • Its not the weapons it's the maps, there's really VERY few places where you're going to be at an advantage with the range of a scout. That being said most weapons are in a really good spot right now, but scouts could maybe use a very slight tweak.

                      • If you're getting mapped by a hand cannon while you're using a scout. You absolutely deserve it. Hand cannons take at least some degree of skill to use. As opposed to sitting back with a scout rifles. Zero engagement=Zero skill.

                        • 120s do have insane range but 140s get up to like 34m max on console, y’know because we need stability

                          Yup. Base 120 is borderline broken, but then... Any 120 hand cannon TTK with one stack of LITERALLY ANY damage buff in the game whatsoever = 0.5 seconds. Rampage x1, swash x1, charged with light x1, rift, sunwarrior, disruption break, inertia override, frontal assault, kill clip, multi kill clip, freezing...Endless chain of 2 taps. What other weapon can 2 crit or 3 body from 45-55 meters, with 14 zoom and 65+ aim assist? Nothing comes close without some sort of major disadvantage. Pulse rifles/scouts with rampage x3 or kill clip maintain same ttk and become slightly more forgiving in terms of crit/body.(except broadsword...but that is gone now) As soon as you get a damage buff 120s basically become a primary amo special weapon.

                          • I hate to disagree with you. I myself use 140 rpm hand cannons in pvp. These are FINE, the problem is with the brand new Duke, the great and almighty True Prophecy. How about a two tap?! The flinching is so damn much. Can't argue with that! Although, if you want to use this gun you need a very good timing and aim and this bunch of stuff. Crimson's catalyst makes the gun like a true pulse rifle. It's hard to get the cat though. A little nerf in 120 rpm HCs would be really great.

                            • Tell me about it! Crimson wrecks everything close up to far out even sidearms are useless. The last word has the fastest ttk in the game and now it’s range is ridiculous and Sturm literally destroys any scout or pulse rifle from across the map. Not to mention all the legendary hand canons that wreck. This season is way worse than last season AR meta. They should give scout rifles a damage buff and introduce some new fast firing pulse rifles like outlast and give them the same to as The Last Word.
