Even if you guys just brought the old faction system from d1 over it wouldn't be bad, plus it'd be a great way to add in more loot. Like maybe some exotic class items that offer their own stat rolls and let you use another exotic armor piece in addition. If anyone has any cool ideas for factions tell me in the replies too

2 RepliesPeople didn't play faction stuff. Move on.

1 ReplyIMO knowing how messed up the loot system is, it's not a missed opportunity.Think about this for a moment. Bungie came up with Guardian games, basically the same process as they had set the Factions up. What did that do for this game knowing even Dawning is set up the same way? Run hundreds of bounties for gear we know would be a copy and paste like IB, Vanguard, etc... Bringing them back would have only added more unnecessary grind, as if the grind in this game isn't bad enough with barely anything to show for it because Bungie doesn't want to put resources into this game to create new loot.

1 ReplyNo, it’s calculated. Factions = Loot Updating = More work They can’t even update the loot for strikes, crucible or gambit. Hell, they only removed maps and gear from them recently, without adding anything. They are woefully incompetent and unable to sustain the game or make any new content at all. That’s just the reality of the situation.

4 RepliesFWI: They totally removed Lakshmi-2 from the game, if you go into FWC area in the hangar, she is gone. So they'd have to replace her (and her voice actor - Shohreh Aghdashloo).

1 ReplyAbsolutely. Each faction should have a pvp or pve god roll weapon of one type. Autorifles for dead or it and the grind to get it should be very long. Thousands of a resource. Like a Vanilla Wow rep grind. Actually give resources a purpose.

8 RepliesJesus Christ let factions go. They didn’t see enough engagement, because they were just vendors, and are not coming back. There are no “missed opportunities”, bungie isn’t bringing them back. They were a waste of resources and are no longer relevant.

4 RepliesI’m glad you brought this up because I had an awesome idea back during the faction rallies. I call it “rally”. The citizens of the last city gather to an arena to watch guardians pledged to each faction compete in an all new game mode. Basically 3v3v3 capture the flag. The arena is shaped like a triangle, and at the point of each triangle: a designated factions banner and team spawn point. The goal is simple, protect your banner while attempting to capture the enemy factions banners and return them to your base. The game mode is round-based. Capturing a banner will net you a point, while protecting your banner for the duration of the round will also net you a point. In the case of a tie, a sudden death banner will spawn in the middle, and capturing it will net you 2 points. I also had other ideas, but these ideas required the game to have an open pvevp zone similar to the dark zone in the division. We all know bungie will never do that.

1 ReplyLoL “Missed Opportunities” is Bungies Specialty!! I’ll probably get banned for that too. #worthit

3 RepliesIf exotic class items did something else then there would be no reason to use anything else. I agree factions need to return though
-
1 ReplyWhy? They were just vendors.
-
this game is full of missed opportunities.

I would kill to get my Hung Jury back.

11 RepliesD1 factions were so lame. They were literally just loot depositories.
-
2 RepliesI miss the exotic class items, and I do miss the factions. Why are they even in the tower?
-
Plenty of missed opportunities in this game at the moment haha
-
I'd say they would make for a great season focus. Just don't know how it would fit in with the story
-
They should come back similar to D1, not D2’s daft competition thing but as avenues for some cool story branches. There’s loads of locations and environments to pop a unique shader and a nice four round LitC hand-cannon in a chest...(joke). Make a change from this tedious grinding of repeat activities for minimal ‘end-game’ rewards. I liked all the factions and their unique lore; it’s a real shame that they really haven’t figured much and now not at all, in D2.

9 RepliesAnyone explain why the FWC and New Monarchy vendors are missing but the dead orbit guy is still there?
-
1 ReplyFactions are never coming back. Bungie is becoming more and more politically correct each day and they fear anything that could refer to Religion. Why do you think the speaker and factions got removed in the first place. I doubt guardian games will ever return either because they had alot of backlash on titans winning most of it aswell. Don't hope for anything regarding Destiny 2. You'll only be dissapointed.
-
Agreed, just add another background grind whilst doing the other boring activities for faction rep, easy.
-
22 RepliesThey serve no in-game function. The game already has too many vendors. Why would they add three more??
-
Tell me about it
-
Yeah i wish they would too.
-
3 RepliesAgree. Would be great to have.

Edited by BloodS1ay3r: 12/24/2020 9:16:25 AMMaybe give them rotating world drops? Or something? Or maybe just revert them to what they were in D1. Did anyone have an issue?
