So everyone I know on console has been having issues with wail either deactivating during multiple swings or straight up not activating at all despite making sure block happens and sword revs up before first swing and hit. We have all tried holding block throughout as well as letting go of block once it starts making the sound of hits. When is this going to be fixed for console?

7 RepliesYou can only do 3 lights into a heavy no more.

1 ReplyYou need to pay attention to the charge. I play on PS4 and i have no problem with Lament.

*UPDATE* We have a working theory. To comment back to all who thought this issues was charged based, it isn't, happens at full charge at times. Hence the feedback here. Thank you for your helpful hints, not having enough charge does effect procking the wail. The issue here is getting the wail to start in the first place, with full charge. No matter block then swing, block for a sec then swing, hold block once procked, let go once you get the audio cue, either way it fails often enough. We think through testing if sprint is accidentally activated sometimes it slips in and cancels the guard or even cancels the wail in progress. We have had way better consistency being very careful not to tick down on the sprint l toggle. Again still imperfect, just bad recognition in game on ps4 and ps5 of the inputs needed to activate. Costs you dearly when you really need that heal, ie gm nightfall. To the other comments: I get way more than 3 light swings when I get it to proc, if the situation calls for it, I believe we have stacked wail up to 9 with lucent blade? Only reason you limit to 3 at atraks is the time available to dps, 4 lights and a heavy your heavy hits during immune so your net damage ends up lower. I forget the other comment I saw often, will edit to address if need be.

1 ReplyThink you're doing something wrong. You sure you have a full charge? There's a cool down. Give it a sec to rev before I leashing a combo. A max combo is 4 lights and a heavy if the dps window allows for that.

The problem I have is after revving I tried strike, I end up striking in the wrong direction

1 ReplyThe only issues I’m having is that it likes to clip through whatever I’m swinging at.

3 RepliesWhat’s weird about the Lament is it works like it should sometimes, and other times, it’s tracking become no existent from out of nowhere and i whiff the enemy i was attacking. Destroying my DPS from the Combo i was using. It happens randomly but really irritating when it decides to do that.

sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Welcome to Bungie's Destiny.

1 ReplyA lot of folks dont pay attention to the charge, which results in what you describe. I was guilty of it at one point too.

12 RepliesEdited by JM-TheChosen1: 12/23/2020 5:16:29 PMLet me help you out. Same thing happened to me. It's the charge rate on Lament itself. You have to pay attention to the available charge you have to activate the combo. To increase its forgiveness, use Arc Mod: Lucent Blade. It increase charge rate to be faster. Make sure you put on an "ARC MOD" in the other slot to activate the passive on Lucent Blade itself. It won't work with just an Arc Armor piece. Recommend: Any Arc Chest Piece, put on "Lucent Blade" and put on "ARC DAMAGE RESISTANCE" for your the charge time increase to PROC. Arc Damage Resistance costs only 1 point verses other Arc Mods that might cost 3. Again, once you put on Lucent Blade YOU NEED AN ARC MOD AS A SECONDARY TO PROC THE PASSIVE. Arc Resist on Chest Piece all day for the least amount of cost. Trust me, on top of paying close attention to the charge melee on screen, the increase charge time from Lucent will grant more forgiveness and readiness for better consistency because you get faster charge time with Lucent Passive than without it. Made the same mistake bro but found a way to make it easy. And your getting damage buff on charged with light orb pick ups. EDIT 1: Remember, you can't combo with no meter on the charge slot on screen, even if you are "Rev'ing up" the blade. You need to let go of the Rev to charge up the blade's juice to get swings. The swings consume the meter from full to zero after X amount swings. EDIT 2: You can get 6 swings. 5 Light and 1 Heavy. Not sure if Lucent Blade's recharge rate has anything to do with this but I do it all the time.

1 ReplySame, and I am using Stronghold gauntlets. It only seems to work on named bosses and regular cannon fodder enemies. As soon as I take it to one of the roaming Brigs, I can't get the perk to activate.

Edited by Xienthius: 12/25/2020 4:34:29 AMHappened to me. But when I equipped Lucent blade along with another arc mod to activate its other perk, it was not a problem.

I always assumed it was like the guillotine sword with the damage perk, you hit 4 quick strikes then do the heavy, except you Rev it up with the left trigger first. But it's not working quite that simple, I hadn't noticed a cooldown (unless the comment was about the sword charge cooldown that every sword has?) All I saw at the bottom of the screen was a banshees wail x1 x2 x3 etc.. So I'll have to take a better look next time.
-
Look at the bottom of your screen when holding a sword. See the cooldown icon? Yea ? Wait until that bad boy is full again. Now you can light attack until it's full or wait until it's full then rev up and do the combo. Now reving up makes the meter go down which means less light attacks during the rev combo. So if you rev then immediately start hitting then you can get 4 swings in then a heavy. 3 swings is safer.

2 RepliesIt is my understanding that you cannot do the full combo twice in a row. I think there is a cool down.

Edited by Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 12/23/2020 3:14:51 PMYou aren't supposed to let go of block until you're resetting the attack and times you probably think it isn't working - it probably is The animation is what is buggy I think. For some reason the revved animation won't happen but your stacks will still remain and your damage is still the same. You can not use the revved combo twice in a row. Block, 3 light, 1 heavy, let go of block, 5 light, repeat

This! I knew with my skills it wasnt just me.

5 RepliesEdited by High Noon at Jötunn Saloon: 12/24/2020 1:03:39 PMWe all went back to using Guillotine everywhere except Aksis.

Charge based cool down just like Guillotine.

You need mods to make it consistent. Lucent blade with any other arc mod will work. The sword by itself is just too ordinary. Mods make it super.
