I remember all of you saying that Bungie has more in store for this expansion. New things to do you all said. Lies. The game is vapid. Empty. Theres no reason to play unless you just really like the world of Destiny. Why are we grinding? Light level barely matters at all once you reach the minimum requirements for an activity.
Whats the point of spending time in the game when every content drop is so tiny. All of the content in season of arrivals should have been included with beyond light. There was no excuse for this nonsense of having to pay for the season on top of the expansion. Beyond light was not worth 40 dollars. I'm sick of playing the one new strike which isn't even fun anymore because we're forced to play the same 4 strikes over and over. What an absolute joke. Fall expansions must bring the content. And the last 2 have been lacking severely.
I'm sick of the excuses. This isn't an indie studio. Its bungie with hundreds of talented employees. So I ask what the hell are they doing? How many resources are being used to develop that stupid new IP matter that Jason jones is running? How about you get back to actually developing a competent amount of things for us to play instead of adding activities like Wrathborn hunts which are designed to waste our time. The fun is just being squeezed out of this game and it sucks to see. Almost every aspect of this game feels mediocre except the visual and audio design. Which has been the case since 2014. How has the game still not surpassed the low eras of the franchise? Its always one step forward, 50 steps back. They are not listening. The problem is everything in the game is underdeveloped. Strikes need an overhaul, the open world needs an overhaul, crucible, etc.
But these things will never happen because people say "bungie doesn't have activision anymore they're working from home" blah blah blah. No excuse. I thought bungie was supposed to be a renounded studio. The content model is way too close to a mobile game or some shit like fortnight. This content model is not what made us fall in love with destiny period. Idc what kellygreen2 has to say.

Yeah it's pretty dead. Beyond Light was fun at first, but like always, in just a few weeks a becomes an empty husk of nothing to do.

1 ReplyAt this point, Bungie should just charge the $10 season passes. Unless they miraculously get another studio or 2 to help them, this is Destiny’s future.

7 RepliesSo... why did you buy the game then if you knew you weren’t going to enjoy it?
-
6 RepliesFor me it is worth it but I do have issues when comparing this expansion to previous ones and their pricing. The last 2 annual releases have given us things I have come to expect in an annual release that we didn’t get this time. 1. A new dungeon (Prophecy doesn’t count as it is what was used to sell last season) 2. More loot (the new raid loot and exotics are great but we haven’t got enough new loot in general). 3. New crucible Maps 4. New Gambit Maps 5. New strikes - one and a reprisal is not enough IMO These are all core things to an annual release that are missing and I do enjoy the dlc and think it is worth my money but fully recognise that this is below expectations in terms of quantity.

6 RepliesI extracted my money's worth. Too bad they had to go and turn on this shambolic matchmaking right before Christmas. What am I supposed to do now? Talk to family members?
-
So why did you buy it then?
-
1 ReplyAnyone else seen the bungie advert saying "join more than 167 million guardians" ? (The game awards trailer) Thats false marketing because the number of active guardians is way below that number.
-
20 dollar dlc, at best. No way the content quality makes this a 40 dollar game....
-
I agree. Waste of money personally.
-
1 ReplyI see you getting criticized here but I completely agree. The fact that they got rid of more content than they added is stupid to say the least. People who are saying “you shouldn’t have bought it then”: opinions like his matter the most because he is subjective and doesn’t roll with all of Bungie’s misdoings.
-
I get this post pisses you people off. If the expansion is "worth it for you" thats cool. But that doesn't change the fact that it is still not worth 40$. Just because you don't have a problem with it or if you spent a lot of time playing doesn't change the lack of content in this expansion. Again I repeat. ONE NEW STRIKE. NO NEW CRUCIBLE MAPS. Its not really about your opinion. If you think that's an acceptable amount of content in a 40 dollar expansion you are simply not correct or you just haven't been around that long to remember what a good expansion is like. Sorry to come off as an a hole but Jesus christ this cannot be ignored.

Definitely not worth 40 bucks, which is why I'm happy Beyond Light is available on Game Pass.
-
1 ReplyI feel it all went wrong when Bungie decided: LEVELLING COULD BE USED AS CONTENT. (There, I said it)
-
3 RepliesDefinitely the worst fall/big expansion we’ve ever got.
-
3 RepliesYou seem like the life of a party 🙄 It's very subjective. I've been enjoying it. Grinding power level, doing raid challenges, going flawless in trials, and kicking ass in PvP. That's what I've been up to with my destiny time.
-
1 ReplyOpinions can differ. Im still enjoying the game (with a healthy amount of scepticism)
-
2 RepliesAgreed. Every time I think I'm out they pull me back in but now they're talking about sun setting supers and I'm willing to bet IB will never get anything that's actually new. So yeah no more money from me
-
2 RepliesI think it was, unfortunate that you don't see value.
-
The supers and raid were fun, the planet? Not so much. Pretty boring. Its a bunch of empty space with snow. Whoopie doo. I can go outside and get the same experience.
-
It’s a $40 soundtrack that happens to have some gameplay.
-
You shouldn't have bought it then 🤷🏽
-
It seems worth is subjective

1 ReplyImo, Bungie doesn't need to take other jobs right now. Their sole focus should be the Destiny IP and leave it at that. Its what they're good at. Have everyone working in unison to make the game more expansive and enjoyable. You can't make a game on a barebones staff. I've had many jobs in my lifetime and I would be willing to bet this content drought has something to do with the lack of staffing.
-
8 RepliesImagine being so lame you only play games for “rewards.” $40 isn’t even beer money, and unless you’re an indentured servant in a Chinese sweat shop, that $40 amortizes pretty quickly.
-
3 RepliesI respectfully disagree. Still playing and enjoying it.
