Amanda Holiday has a Crimson Days voice line where she says something along the lines of “everyone wants to be Marcus Ren’s Crimson bond”. Ren is a Hunter (and was Cayde-6’s best guess for the Hunter that would kill him).

Basically he is anHunter that builds dangerous stuff and puts them on people without earning them about the dangers. It’s great, you should read the stompies and friaries lore.

What Chubby said, but I’ll add on. Marcus also invents many exotics, including Sparrows and equipment. They all tend to be quite dangerous, though. Odds are if you’re wearing something that could blow up or snap your legs in half at any moment, Marcus made it.
