I know I'm bad at crucible.......
Tomorrow is reset and I really don't like/am terrible at crucible, so every week I procrastinate running the crucible pinnacle and usually end up skipping it or jumping in Sunday or Monday evening to get it over with
Tonight, I jump in and boy did I get a reminder of why I avoid crucible. First match, lose, I get stomped on. A 3 stack, with a 2 stack and a rando on the opposing team a running rough shod over us, fragging 3 of us constantly
Game 2, mercied.
Game 3, no mercy, still crushed.
All 3 games, I'm going against a minimum 3 stack of clanmates running adept trials gear. In Control. I have a .8kd/a. Wtf is going on with this game?
How does getting shit on 3 games in a row for pinnacle gear supposed to encourage me to play more crucible? The QP matchmaking numbers have to be in the toilet.
And to top it all off, I get a message from some a-hole telling me how bad I am at the game and how I need to stay out of crucible. Ya d-waffle, I know. I'm not in here cause I wanna be. I have to play this garbage for the pinnacle.

It may depend on the time of day you're playing. I have a different shift pattern from week to week and when I'm home in the afternoon it tends to be alot sweatier. If I play at night when I get home from work it seems a little more chilled.

Not trying to be rude, but if you know you’re bad at crucible you can’t expect good crucible matches.

1 ReplyMy biggest annoyance is the connection issues. I live rural so my connection speed isn’t great, but the quality of my connection is absolutely fine. I can play other multiplayer games without issue, but every time I load into crucible, I’m seeing the annoying red banner across the bottom of my screen. I can play games like Halo, Overwatch and hell, minecraft dungeons, and I’ll still get better connections to those matches with WAY less rubber banding and latency. I’m not bad at crucible, but damn, watching a hunter throw a glacier grenade where I USED to be standing, then getting killed by a shatterdive while I’m behind them, is rough.

Crucible is supposed to be an incentive to just improve on your gameplay. Its supposed to make you want to get better over any rewards you'd get.

Not everyone is going to be good at crucible, I personally suck at raids lol. Having to learn new mechanics and having to play extremely safe on harder content drives me crazy, to each his own you know? Just don’t worry about winning or losing, the game is better when you focus more on playing for fun or trying to complete your objectives however low skill or easy as possible. Don’t take crucible seriously, it is what it is and its not perfect. Crucible just requires a bit more thought compared to strikes just like how trials takes more thought to perform like you would in a grandmaster nightfall or raid.

2 RepliesI feel this post so hard and I'm pretty good at crucible. I don't play PVP anymore because I actually decided to build some armors and do PVE this DLC. Did 2 clears of raid and all. 3 Match Pinnacle Stomp happened to me as well. Can't remember which day but there were stacks for sure and I pretty much couldn't do anything because they had spawns on lock. As much as I hate to say this but if I'm going to solo to try and get some PVP in, I'm going to play FFA or Comp for the Freelance. The stacks increased since Iron Banner and Adepts in Trials. The hyper excessive T Bagging in 6v6 Control is pure non sense at this point. Funny thing is, if Bungie makes a Free Lance Option for every playlist, the stacks will complain about fighting each other but yet say almost nothing about easy competition against them. 6 Stack Stasis Hunters Vs Randoms = Getting Rocks Off 6 Stack Stasis Hunters Vs 6 Stack Stasis Hunters = "iF I WaNtEd To SwEaT, i WoUlD pLaY tRiAls BuNgO" And then say, their quiting, the game is to sweaty on their bad days of play. Then come on here talking about the game is dying after posting: "6 STACK CONTROL KILL LOBBIES" In the LFG Section for months at a time. It's getting disgustingly old to the point, I don't even want to play PVP anymore. I never thought I'd say that here. Ever.

4 RepliesI'm bad at crucible also so if all you are trying to do is get the 3 completions do what I do. Just run around and do nothing but punch ppl. It's a lot more fun than trying to play well and getting owned over and over by sweatlord fireteams. Or the other thing I like to do sometimes is do nothing the whole match except run away or hide in a corner and see if I can go the whole match without being seen. If a guy gets to close just suicide off the side of the map. Lol.

I stopped caring a long time ago about pvp. If the team isn’t good, I don’t try. Might go super aggro just to see how I can do. Might run around in circles goofing off. 🤷♂️ The main problem with complaints stems from people taking crucible seriously. Don’t do that. This isn’t that game. It never was and Bungie told us back in D1 it was just a sideshow. Trials was made for actual competitive play and that’s a meat grinder. If people treated pvp for the sideshow it IS, they would get more out of it. Because to be fair, three stomped losses just means you got that pinnacle faster then having three drawn out slugfests.

The trick is to stop caring. I'd say I'm average at pvp. Some games I pop off but if my team is getting shit on im not good enough to carry and turn it around. I used to get shit on every game just like you. Hell I first started playing in D1 when thorn was king and could 2 tap from sniper range, because I was new I didnt have one You just got to stop caring and if you want to improve the only way is just to play more and try and learn from mistakes you are making im afraid

I know what you mean. Crucible in general is a terrible place and I don’t think it’s rewarding at all playing it. I blame that on the combined sandboxes. Pve and pvp would be better split than together

This is why the trials adept gear is not what people wanted. Because anyone good or lucky enough to get it will take it to QP and stomp. Bungie cant make gear too good regardless of where its from because PvP is already in a bad place regardless of SBMM or CBMM and adding Trials gear only makes things so much worse.

What do you expect? Those people have been taking crucible seriously, they have all the right to stomp you. I do agree that SBMM should be implemented in some form to avoid stomping, bum not to the extent that it used to be. Crucible is a place where the skilled come out on top, just put in time and effort. You shouldn’t be expected to drag and pop-off when you never touch crucible, have realistic expectations.

Like no judgement or anything but if you’re only playing 3 games a week in crucible you’re not going to get any better. You’ve also said you don’t like crucible so I doubt if the game did give you easy games you’d still probably only play those 3 games. I’m sorry that your experience with the 3 games of pvp wasn’t a hand me out and an easy experience. But realistically should the game completely screw over the players that put in 100- 200 games a week in all there games with extreme lag and long q times, just to cater to a player that only wants to play 3 games just so you can have a good 3 game experience? I’m sorry but No.

If I remember correctly, the crucible pinnacle is a +1 rather than a +2 like the raid or nightfall. So you could honestly just skip it, if you're having that negative of an experience. Otherwise try and use whatever cheesy builds are meta, and stick with your teammates as much as possible.

The person who messaged is just as terrible at PVP. Don't take it so seriously. You probably already know, but if you want(Which you probably don't) to get better at PVP, you need to play it more often, and find a Clan to help you. It took me 2 Years and 3 months to get where I'm at. This doesn't happen overnight.

1 ReplyI get a lot of people don't like PvP in general and God knows Crucible has many issues but the more you play the mode the easier (and sometimes more enjoyable) it becomes. I avoided PvP like the plague but decided to suck up the mercies, the low kd, playing against stacks & my lack of inherent skill and eventually got better at it to the point where I can play PvP and enjoy as many games as I don't. I am not saying I am good at PvP but I enjoy it a lot more than I used to.
