Also, I just dont think its necessary to give a lot of Submachine Guns SO much recoil. It makes it a struggle to even use in optimal range on console and I shouldnt be fighting my weapons recoil like a Raid boss.
Please reduce the recoil of Submachine Guns across the board. They arent going to invade Auto Rifle Range because of damage drop off anyway.
I really would like a smoother shooting experience with them because as they are now, I would never use an SMG over a Sidearm which kills faster and is more accurate and stable.

7 RepliesSurplus with dragonfly.... ooft. Pity itll be taken away soon. A mistake that actually makes chasing gear in this event fun.
-
1 Replythat's why they added the perk for control recoil
-
Coldfront has always had terrible recoil.
-
If you can get it with surplus, it feels like a new gun
-
1 ReplyDrag your aim down while you shoot. It doesn’t matter if your recoil is 1 or 29, if you aren’t compensating for it you won’t hit your target. If you aren’t compensating, a reduction isn’t going to help you.

2 RepliesI’ve yet to use a single one of these. There are tons of better choices in this game.

Surplus says hi!

1 ReplyRecluse was the least bouncy SMG we had, except Huckleberry maybe. I've had 2 god roll Cold Fronts sitting in my vault since last year, because I've only ever felt the need to use Recluse until it was sunset recently. Eliminating the most consistent SMG didn't "refresh the meta" or whatever Bungo says, it just made me stop using SMGs because they all feel like ass

21 RepliesIt boggles my mind how many people complain about console recoil. Recoil is so stupidly easy to adjust for it isn't funny. I mean how hard is it really to apply slight pressure to a stick in the opposite direction? The almost no recoil on PC, ps5, and series x is only when FoV is set to 105 which I don't think is intentional, but actually a glitch and for those of us who really don't like the squished out of proportion appearance it gives everything it is unfortunate. The reason I think this is unintended is if you adjust the FoV in the opposite direction recoil gets worse as you decrease the FoV.

8 RepliesOh, thanx! Because of this post sidearms will be nerfed!

Its so funny that SMG's are mostly trash on console yet on PC they're laser beams. Bungie need to take another look at so many weapon types. Low RoF machine guns damage is still pretty terrible in most places, rockets and linear fusions are meh, SMG recoil on most make them poop, the damage nerfs in Shadowkeep make alot of handcanons feel garbage in PvE as well such as 180rpms, etc. Once bungie nerf something they seem to think that's it, job done and no need to ever revisit it or monitor its performance post nerf. Know which weapon in particular springs to mind when I say this? SLEEPER SIMULANT.

Edited by vivelalune: 12/22/2020 2:52:31 PMNo matter which gun perks you get, you will always have plenty of recoil when it comes to SMG’s on console, ESPECIALLY aggressive frame SMG’s. However, you can make the experience a tad bit more manageable by having the following perks: Gun Barrel -Arrowhead Break for better recoil control -Polygonal Rifling for better stability -Extended Barrel for better recoil control and range -Chambered Compensator for better recoil control and stability *Note that extended barrel and chambered compensator penalizes your handling stat and this weapon already has poor handling. I would highly recommend arrowhead break or polygonal rifling over extended and chambered* Magazine -Stead rounds for better stability Perk Slot 1 -Surplus (for better stability when your abilities are charged) Perk Slot 2 -Unfortunately, nothing here for stability or recoil control Masterwork -Stability all the way. Masterworking a weapon gives you a +10 bonus stat on a weapon

10 RepliesGet one with polygonal rifling, accurized rounds, and a stability master work it still has recoil but far from non controllable. You can also put on the mod that makes the gun have less recoil. That’s the one I have and I barely have any problems with recoil with the gun.

21 RepliesWelcome to console home of the recoil. Cant wait for crossplay so i can get mapped by a smg across the map on pc 🤞

2 RepliesLaughs in pre fix hardlight aka Michael j fox in a gun
-
8 RepliesPlay on PC. It’s literally destiny 2 easy mode.
-
2 RepliesAnother problem created and perpetuated by Bungie. This goes back to pinnacle weapons being made unnecessarily strong. Instead of just tuning Recluse, Bungie just nerfed all smgs.

15 RepliesAs others have said, the perk Surplus is a godsend for this gun. Mine rolled with Surplus and Surrounded. I threw on a surrounded spec mod and it’s such a fun gun. Definitely one of my favorites this season because of Surplus.

8 RepliesJust tap the trigger dont hold it down and aim for the head...eazy peazy

I use both inputs. SMGs in general need a stability buff on controller. antiope is the best feeling SMG for controller on pc.
-
All SMGs outside Recluse and the exotics have horrible recoil on console. Big reason why you never see anyone use them. This is also a reason why when cross play comes out console needs a opt out option for PC. Just wouldn't be fair in the current state.
-
SMGs are a PC only kinda gun. Just stop trying and use an auto. There’s a reason why you never see SMGs on console it’s cuz they all have trash recoil/stability
-
1 ReplyIncredible how a sub machine gun with a slower ttk and less range than an auto rifle has worse recoil. What’s even the point of smg’s anymore besides Warmind Cells?
-
Got 2 of them so far. I just looked at their stability stat and noped out.
