I'm sure people have there opinions on shotguns, snipers, hand cannons, and the rest of them on PC, but as somebody who plays a lot of PvP on PS4, it is not the same for us.
Hand cannons have almost no recoil on PC, but they are very hard to control on consoles. So if you buff hand cannons, they are good on consoles, but overpowered on PC. If you nerf them because of PC, they will be terrible on consoles.
Recoil is one of the reasons why weapons with high recoil on PC are good, but weapons with low recoil dominate on consoles.
Felwinters Lie is broken on consoles right now. We don't have the FPS, the FOV, nor the sensitivity to counter somebody running at you and sliding at you with a Felwinter's Lie. Only thing you can do is run a shotgun to try to counter it. Snipers are basically pointless due to the aim assist nerfs, and long zoom scopes suck, especially when most long range maps are gone.
Most of these problems are caused by the lack of a FOV slider, 60 FPS, and terrible sensitivity settings. I don't know how PS5 or Xbox Series X is, seeing as how majority of people cant get one.
Its almost impossible to balance this game on both PC and consoles. To be honest, Destiny 2 shouldn't never come to PC. Nobody in D1 complains about the Crucible like they do now. Bungie, you guys need to think of something, but somehow I doubt you've actually played console Crucible on a daily basis.

I play pvp on pc with a controller. The biggest issue you will have is movement. I do pretty well with controller. And yes using SMGs feels good too. But you can’t move with a controller like you can with kbm

1 ReplyDude pvp games are impossible to balance. Every game has there OP weapon and if that’s nerfed something else takes it’s place. Even csgo, a game widely accepted as one of the better pvp games on the market, has had multiple weapons be considered OP. It’s just the nature of sandbox balancing.
-
i play on ps4 as well, hc are not hard to control but they are actually pretty easy to control, felwinters is not broken its pretty easy to counter and i play 4 sens, and snipers are not bad whatsoever, snipers are -blam!-ing insane right now with not only still hitting people in the head when its off the head for but they also have very little flinch allowing easy snipes and dont forget that flinch pulls toward their head. these arent issues with console, these are issues with you.

7 RepliesYou’re not talking about the differences between PC and console. You’re talking about the difference between M&k and controller. The new consoles allow for a full 105 fov as well as 60 plus frames. Really not much of a difference between a PC and a current gen console. The balancing of m&k and controller is a whole different conversation and may be an issue when cross play goes live.
-
It IS possible. They just have to balance the platforms separately. Other devs have done it. But that would require effort and money, and we all know how Bungie feels about that...
-
6 RepliesI told people this a long time ago. console players complain about things like bastion saying it’s OP but in reality they just play on an inferior system. It’s a good weapon but it’s harder to counter when your frames suck. when more people start to play on pc or new gen consoles they will see just how much fluid the game feels and how easier it is to counter certain things.
-
1 ReplyI mean you can balance them easily now since both are 100+ fps with fov slider since that had so much impact
-
2 RepliesA lot of people don't realize that M&K and Controller ARE pretty balanced. I play with a controller and I can still hold my own pretty well against M&K players Inb4 someone stat checks, yes I know I'm around 1.0 who gives a shit
-
They've already been doing separate balance for a while. Take a look at The Last Word. It's absolute beast mode on console or playing with a controller on pc. If you play with m+Kb though it's underwhelming. I'm extremely happy I can finally play destiny on pc with actual fov and proper fps for a shooter as well as actually being able to aim and play at a fast pace. Wishing that it wouldn't have been put on pc would just have made the game stagnate even more I believe. Let them balance it and we'll see how cross play works next year, I think with how cross play in CoD works we'll see something similar with that. With the aim assist on console making some crazy nonsense happen with shots will be interesting to see, but you'll be introduced to the general fast paced movement of a pc player as well.
-
agree that they need separate balancing more accurately they need input based balancing to some degree
-
Yea he is right so bungie should just drop pvp and just focus on pve content simples
-
To be balanced the movement speed of scroll and fov would have to be locked and no changes can be made to them....but this would upset a large number of players...
-
5 RepliesDestiny 2 pvp can literally never be balanced. Hence why it is the laughing stock of pvp shooters.
-
Destiny on PC is the way Destiny was meant to be played. Screw that 10$ a month subscription fee with communist censoring Moderators listening to party chats...

2 Replies“Destiny 2 shouldn’t have come to pc” he says

Edited by Wren: 12/20/2020 12:31:57 AMI’m actually happy with the sniper nerf. Now it takes skill to use, and if you do have the skill and a good rifle then you are unstoppable.

At the least it makes some weapons outright awful without specing it specifically for stability. The rapid fire machine guns make me want to vomit. Cold front is a joke. Rapid fire snipers are really tough to use even in pve because they shoot faster than they can recover. Aggressive autos feel like crap. There are more, but it's just so annoying that some of these weapons just cannot be used as effectively as other weapons because of recoil. Then you pair this shit with flinch and its just sad. Flinch is so annoying in pvp even with unflinching mods.

1 ReplyProbably more controller abusers on pc than m and k players... if I had been a console main when this game released I’d 100% be on controller
-
1 ReplyI just got a ps5 hell yesssssss
-
I love how it’s always the console players constantly moaning and complaining about PC
-
9 RepliesEdited by Fenrir's Heart: 12/19/2020 12:22:29 PMBalance is impossible when console/controller has doubled recoil and flinch. Both platforms/ input methods need identical recoil for the sake of balance. Huge advantage. Cross play is impossible otherwise.

5 RepliesThe ps5 and series x improves these things. Recoil, movement is far better at 60fps for base game and 120htz PvP. In PvP, you crank the sensitivity all the way up because it feels that intuitive and it feels like you have traction on your armor immediately.. of which becomes even better when you put said mod on. And to be fair, although still better with controller on pc... you still fight recoil to a good degree. Outside of the frames per second improvements... Mouse and keyboard is where your recoil is just so much easier to control... but at the cost of a lot less aim assist. It is a give or take. If you want said improvements, they will not come to this last gen... you will have to cross your fingers and upgrade to a ps5 or series x. They definitely play more like pc. And bungie has already stated they are about expanding the player base with cross-play... so they will not segregate the last gen from the new gen.
-
22 RepliesIt’ll be easier for them now with new gen. Your recoil are tied to your frames. Playing on 120 frames on my console, my guns don’t move lol. The quicker old gen goes away, the quicker they can actually try to balance it.
-
Not even be balanced for consoles now.
-
9 RepliesLast I checked controllers had extreme aim assist for controllers even without targeting compared to PC recoil be damned.

10 RepliesEdited by Hession: 12/23/2020 3:23:33 PM
I'm sure people have there opinions on shotguns, snipers, hand cannons, and the rest of them on PC, but as somebody who plays a lot of PvP on PS4, it is not the same for us.
Well yes, the way you control the game is different, of course it’s not the same.
Hand cannons have almost no recoil on PC, but they are very hard to control on consoles. So if you buff hand cannons, they are good on consoles, but overpowered on PC. If you nerf them because of PC, they will be terrible on consoles.
This is false. Hand cannons do in fact have recoil on pc too. The reason it seems that they don’t is due to player skill with a mouse. Countering recoil with a mouse is far easier than with a controller. Having played both ways i have good experience with them both.
Recoil is one of the reasons why weapons with high recoil on PC are good, but weapons with low recoil dominate on consoles.
This statement here contradicts your last one. The one about pc having no recoil. But now it has high recoil?
Felwinters Lie is broken on consoles right now. We don't have the FPS, the FOV, nor the sensitivity to counter somebody running at you and sliding at you with a Felwinter's Lie. Only thing you can do is run a shotgun to try to counter it. Snipers are basically pointless due to the aim assist nerfs, and long zoom scopes suck, especially when most long range maps are gone.
Felwinters lie a broken in general, fov and fps will not save you. You can have 300 fps(like my friends) or 100+ like me and still fall to shotgun apes. Thats due to player skill and reaction time. I do agree however on the sensitivity point. And on snipers. Like i said before, the control scheme is the factor here. Its much easier to aim with a mouse than with a controller. Point and case: me, i -blam!-ing suck with snipers. Both on console and pc, but at least on pc i hit sometimes.
Most of these problems are caused by the lack of a FOV slider, 60 FPS, and terrible sensitivity settings. I don't know how PS5 or Xbox Series X is, seeing as how majority of people cant get one.
(Edit)I still think FOV isn’t that big of a deal in pvp. But for Quality of life purposes i still think it should be added for those who want it. Never was against that. FOV isn’t as relevant as you think, i can play with an ultrawide setup and still be juked by not seeing people. While i do think you should have a slider to change it your likings, your framerate might pay the price with that. Anything above 60fps for reaction time isn’t really relevant either, but because bungie ties things to framerates, there is a problem there. However the difference from 30fps to 60fps is noticeable.
Its almost impossible to balance this game on both PC and consoles.
The game is balanced separately as it is, so what you are saying here makes no sense.
To be honest, Destiny 2 shouldn't never come to PC.
Oh no, people are playing on their preferred system and not mine, that affects me because i know about it. They shouldn’t be allowed to have fun.
Nobody in D1 complains about the Crucible like they do now.
Everybody in d1 complained in the exact same way as people to in d2. The forums never change. (Edit)This is a pet peeve of mine it isn’t relevant to op’s post\/ If you are here to say no to crossplay, i don’t agree with that either. It should be an opt in system to play crossplay. At the very least it should be in place for crucible. But i don’t think encountering people in patrols and strikes who play pc will really affect you. Oh and, cheating is not condoned by me or anyone, please stop using that as a point against player unity. (Edit) also dont mind me, “sjw” for players playing together. It should be opt in though, i know how worried console players are with hackers.
