They nerf things, and make destinations useless...
Then act like they don't know why people don't use them
Then sunset them
Instead of fixing things, luke's big idea is to give up.
Literally.
Can't make better weapons, can't think of any ideas?
Give up and make the same ones, sunsetting the older version.
Cant make vendors refresh on locations and have a reason to go there, can't make public events rewarding and fun?
Give up and delete half the game world.
Can't make supers more viable and subclasses more customizable?
Give up and delete supers.
See the pattern?
You have a failure and a quitter mindset running this game.

1 ReplyThe direction from on high has been terrible for a very long time. I stopped playing in March after putting way too many hundreds of hours into this title but slowly and steadily being disenfranchised. I hate to say it but I really haven’t missed Destiny since I left. I miss the potential of what could have been... but even that is fading. I had been a die-hard Bungie fanboy since 1997. The studio could do no wrong, and I never had the desire to play other titles beyond their current offering. But now? I don’t recognize much Bungie DNA anymore. They lost their magic. Now they’re just copycatting success they see elsewhere. Poorly, might I add.

Is this a poem?

10 RepliesEdited by joanespotatos: 12/19/2020 12:39:54 PMDo you people hear yourselves? This game is the only way (that i know) that bungie can make money. Do you honestly think that they want the game to die? Cmon. And sure, "matter is coming", but do we know anything about it? And do you really think that they need to kill a game to take care of another? Are you serious?

Your opinion is short sighted, stop acting like Luke Smith sits on a throne making every decision on his own with Bungie employees worshipping his feet. It’s not praising the choices made for the game, if you don’t like them that’s understandable and your opinion. As far as weapon sunsetting though and calling them out for lack of creativity, there is only so much they can really do. They have to work within the archetypes they’ve created. Nothing in any other mmo or rpg I can think of lasts forever.

After all the times people complained and said destiny is dead? I'm with the other guy. He's frankenstein and making his monster.
-
Maybe he's one of those guys who hates his job but can't find better because he's up to his eyes in debt? He seems like a pretty miserable guy watching the videos he's in.

That's what me and a couples of friends are also thinking. It's sabotage.

Edited by Yosemite Sam: 12/18/2020 1:52:14 AM
Luke Smith is actively trying to kill destiny
Umm, I think you are a couple of years too late on this one. Trying? he did with the help of NetEase being on the board, and upper management. This isn't Destiny anymore and it hasn't been in 3 years. Luke Smith turned Destiny into a WoW/Fortnite wannabe. Serious, let's look at what this company did to this game 4 years later when it should have moved forward as ROI actually moved D1 forward. I have never seen a company destroy their own game as bad as Bungie actually has.
1. Removed half the game we paid for without at least trying to compensate. 2. Only made one destination relevant out of the entire game. 3. Sunsetting was handled very poorly. 3. Power nor progression means anything in this game being reset every 3 months. 4. No new crucible maps. 5. No new gambit maps. 6. No replayable content. 7. Barely updated anything that it didn't make any difference at all in this game that anyone would notice. 8. Just to get "new loot" they have us pay extra for the season passes. 9. They nerfed the crap out of the vanguard vendors making them totally useless. 10. Nerfed BD 11. They are still keeping us weak that stats mean nothing in this game knowing we can't take damage worth a damn. Yet, they increased the difficulty of certain activities to do more damage to us. 12. Barly added any actual new loot, and think past season loot was a "fix" because of the lack of loot. 13. There is no foundation. 14. That game has no identity. 15. The grind was tripled because of the lack of activities and they think throwing thousands of bounties at us is "creating content". 16. The last couple of years most of the content has been a copy and paste that IB has become a joke. 17. They think adding new loot and that is only if we are lucky to get actual new loot, once a year to certain activities is a "significant improvement".
The list is huge as to what's actually wrong with what this company did to this game because every time something good comes from this game like Forsaken they "have to fix things". WTH happened to working with what actually works for the game to get it moving forward, because as of right now? D2 is far worse off than D1 ever was when it comes to creating a game that has quality content that keeps players engaged in that content.

No there slowly doing D3 (basically) which is great time for a change D2 is extremely stale and boring. Supers are boring guns are boring, this needs to happen

2 RepliesAlso worth mentioning how instead of fixing exotics with bugs, they just change the description to include the bugs.

Edited by OBI-SWEDE KENOBI: 12/18/2020 5:23:34 PMI totally agree. Well written. Just one thing, when he does actually have an idea it usually results in that the players freedom of choice is taken away. You most use this weapon - you must use this mod - you must use this armor etc.
-
Indeed.

He has already done that m8

Holy shit this. Bump

3 RepliesWhat is the common theme regarding all of the points you’ve made? I believe that the decision has been made to put as little effort into improving or fixing Destiny as possible in order to focus on the NetEase game. Just my thoughts. No facts to back them up but all signs seem to point to this.
