Flash of Inspiration Not Dropping? (Updated)
I don’t know if this is a problem anyone else is having but flash of inspiration is not dropping for me whatsoever. I have created multiple orbs of light with my super (and even tested it out with different supers on different characters) and it hasn’t dropped still. I also tested it on weapons with catalysts that create orbs of light, and still haven’t gotten anything. Has anyone else encountered this?
Update: I have finally gotten it to drop. It took me the entirety of Beyond Light with two characters, but I got it to drop twice in a row after using my super. The drop rate for this is absolutely bizarre😑

The best luck i had was putting Harmonic Siphon and Kinetic Siphon on my helm mods. I used Chroma Rush and Reckless Endangerment and got 3 in about 15min. Can't say it will work every time, but hope it helps a little.

I'mstuck trying to grind for it as well, I've got to bake the cookie for IKEA and I'm having everything else drop in spades except the one I need to progress and participate in the event

I spent three hours at blinding well with scorn and got two you have to kill scorn to get flash of inspiration

It's an RNG drop. Also Eva does have bounties that have flash of inspiration as a reward, so your best bet for guaranteed flashes would be the bounties.

Managed to get a few to drop finally. Was in a strike using Telesto to get some hefty multi-kills still ridiculously baaad drop rate.

I've figured out the solution! Kills generating orbs with a kinetic weapon has the best results! Just get multi kills with masterworks kinetic no precision. Any chance at a different ingredient almost guarantees no flash.

Same problem here, played crucible for a couple hours and tried grinding pve today. No drops of flash.

Yep, same here, apparently it is dropping, but it's just super rare; the drop rate needs to be looked at because it's taking way too long to drop, upwards of multiple hours just to get one.

It’s a RNG drop, you can create 100 orbs and may not get it, but it seems to be like every 20-40 orbs.

It must be bugged. [i]Edit: Finally dropped one! But I must have generated close to 2 thousand orbs until I got it... Edit 2: Just dropped 2 more one after the other! when I was playing it only seemed to drop from masterworked sword and shotgun multi kills

I only got them to drop in strikes for the most part or during public events. They have always had an issue but think it’s more so now that they are called orbs of power not orbs of light lol. I get them mostly from using a masterworked Kenetic weapon. GL

Same issue. Tried many weapons at many locations. I assumed the Dawning was supposed to be a fun, lighthearted event. Why is it necessary to grind for 1 specific ingredient?

There is something weird with these drops or they dont work as I think should work. I mainly got elemental ones from class abilities (sunspots, nades) or weapons like cloudstrike thunder kills. Weapons gave auto, precision, multi, explosion etc most of the time. Supers gave superb. Orb ones not certain I think I got few when I collected the orb after weapon kills, but that could have been icon just popping up at the same time. I had hard time getting solar ones from free world, but got mine to drop after loaded to strike, went to lost sector and killed mobs with titan solar nades and sunspots. I did not record gameplay so they might have dropped without me noticing.
