How does it benefit me, my point is they sunset 80 percent of weapons because of power creep. Power creep does not exist because everything is so easy, you literally do not need a primary weapon in the new raid, there's no reason to run a primary, they should of sunset weapons slowly like get rid of mountaintop recluse, and phase out others over time so the loot pool isn't so shallow, for the first time in years one done with destiny weapons. I've got my god roll from raid Europa and wrathborne hunts and were in week 5, there's plenty of year 1 2 3 weapons I still need god rolls for and would be happy to farm but there's no point as there not power relevant

Ok, I misunderstood the argument you were making. I agree in the part of there are a lot of things that should be in the metagame still that aren't, I haven't made it unclear in the past that I think they could have done sunsetting better, but in this particular part of the thread I was arguing against someone who was saying they should just buff up everything instead of nerfing overpowered things down to a more manageable level, and I thought you were also arguing from their position. And buffs are always nice, but they're a tool used to get the lower things up to the average standard, not to bring everything up to the highest common denominator.

All good, Ime in favour of sunsetting just they went to extreme, if they got rid of say 30 old guns and replaced with 30, in a couple of seasons we would have all new guns without having a shallow loot pool, there excuse of power creep just makes me laugh. Falling guilatine was ridiculous and now we have lament that's even more op so power creep isn't the reason, balancing the amount of weapons they had would be a nightmare ime happy I don't have to deal with, they should have introduced sunsetting less extreme, would of given everyone time to adjust to the new system

Knowing bungie the discrepancy with falling guillotine and the lament are almost definitely due to some kind of miscommunication, or lack of communication entirely, between the sandbox team and the rewards team. Falling guillotine has now been tuned down enough for it to be good, but not absurd, and I expect the lament to follow suit, though hopefully it's not a big nerf. Against anything that actually survives it's combo there are almost always better dps options, it's just that it does so much so quick that almost nothing does survive it.
