I had helped Eris with a pyramid on the Moon, watched as the Almighty nearly crashed into our City, witnessed the Traveller rebirth itself, and mastered the power of Stasis. But now, here Uldren stood. A guardian. “I don’t remember you, but you remember me. What happened between us?” Crow interrupted my thoughts. “Nothing.” I replied. “It’s not important anymore.” I walked out of his chamber and into the Spider’s den. I didn’t say a word as I walked up to him. I intended to go to the Last City and tell everyone where Uldren was. “Now, Oliver.” Spider said. “Let’s make a deal. Crow and I have a good thing going here. So, I have a proposition for you.” “I don’t care.” I replied, turning to him. “Oh, you will want to hear this.” he replied. He held up a chip, one that could interface with an on-board computer. “I did some digging. I found this. It contains all of the information available on your past lives. Including the ‘Bane of Vex.’” I was interested. “In return for this, you say nothing about the Crow to anyone besides the Vanguard in the Tower.” I considered it. “Deal.” I said, and I took the chip. A few moments later, I was in my quarters on the Rectifier. I plugged the chip into the interface there. The screen lit up. [i]A record of the lives of Subject-442632. He has taken a ship and we have tracked it to the Cosmodrome on Earth. We sent some frames to get rid of him and tie up loose ends. There will be no Oliver-4.
