Fun fact: it’s not the class.

Fun fact: if you’re getting stomped in crucible and you feel inclined to call BS, just remember it’s not because “hunters/warlock/titans are op”. It’s just the player. If you’ve ever played against a real PVP god you’ll quickly realize the class don’t really matter. They probably would’ve stomped you with the other two classes as well. EDIT: I want to make it clear I’m not saying that imbalances don’t exist, but that classes are not the be all end all some people make it out to be. subclasses and load outs are factors, however the point I’m making is that your/enemies’ experience is a huge factor that is often disregarded intentionally or unintentionally. TLDR: if you’re playing against a PvP god, they’re probably going to slap you regardless of what class they’re using. EDIT 2: I find it funny that some of these comments are denying it, but are literally proving my point. Lmao

  • no, that's total horseshit. Stasis is absolutely broken. The distance titans and warlocks can slide now, I can't keep up. I'm at a clear disadvantage in every gun fight, and even if I make a clever play and I'm about to win the gunfight, they can just freeze me. And the freeze lasts way too long. Should not be an aoe. Should be direct hit. -blam!- aoe.

    • I disagree with that the class doesn't play any role. 2018, a 6-stack of Titans with One eyed masks was a problem lol. Or endless Shinobi's nades in IB thanks to the event. Sometimes, a class matters under the correct circumstances. ;) But I agree that the Player matters way more. Just check videos from good players like iFrostBolt when he is trying out new weapons. No matter what he is using, it is good and he does 40 kills in a non-comp Game lol. You could give guys like this a wooden stick and they would stomp the other team. No matter what character they play. They all have their highs and lows but the player makes them OP, not the abilities themselves.

        • Fun fact: The majority of high level players all play Hunters. Coincidence? Nope. Not even in the slightest. They know an unbalanced class when they see one.

          • Thank you for saying this. It makes me laugh everytime when some say the Warlock sucks in Crucible but yet myself and many other Warlock mains have Unbroken and/or Flawless titles. It is that person controlling the class that's the problem not necessarily the class it self. Some complaints are a defense mechanism to deflect from taking the blame as the player for not being good because it hurts little egos and crack delusions of grandeur. Another thing too, if anyone uses mouse & keyboard or scuf controllers on console, you definitely suck hard just like those who use aimbots and cheats on PC. I don't want to hear no I can't use the controller out of the box excuses, no you just want an advantage because you are not as skilled as you think you are. That goes for the average player to the highly watched streamers. #MuchRespectToRegularControllerUsers #WarlocksDontSuckYouSuck

I hope this is bait because these responses are gold. Players just can’t accept that they’re bad at the game. They can kick ass in strikes, but god forbid some one else has better aim, movement and map awareness and it’s all broken af. Same players that used MT prob

              • You are not using all the variables in making your statement. The most used class is hunters because they are the easiest to use. So the class has a higher chance of being played by worse players. Which explains why they may have lower kd Warlocks may have a higher kd because they have to have better fundamentals to utilize the class. So do you understand? More number of hunters means more of a chance less skilled players play the class, but because the class is better in a lot of ways, the class allows some players to be better than they really are. Dodge will always be a better tool. Hunters supers will always have insane hit registrations and range and lock on....out side of golden gun.

              • As a Warlock main I wish we could utilize shatter more like Hunters and Titans. Don’t get me wrong I’m fine with the subclass but that little thing just kinda irks me. Like maybe frostpulse can shatter nearby crystals? Or give Warlocks an exotic to replace class ability with something stasis related? Idk I still like using the class tho

So I guess we ignore random weapon rolls with explicitly god tier rolls for pvp/pve. Or the fact that certain classes get abilities and stats that are objectively better or worse in a certain field, but nah it’s just got Gud scrub, not like there’s a disproportionate amount of players who can steam role the rest of the community based solely on pure stats and builds...

                  • There are some imbalances that need ironing out. Particularly for some neglected subclasses that need some tuning to keep up with the new stuff.

                  • BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS: Would those "PvP Gods" still be that good, if they would play from some other player's house? The answer: Mostly NOT! Because of this peer-to-peer connection advantage.

Oh boy, I sure do love getting outplayed by a shadebinder pressing melee and getting insta frozen with its AoE! I also love how when they press Q, it's basically free kills! So Much Counterplay!

                        • Stasis warlock melee at launch was broken as an example. Class does matter. Why is it we hardly see certain classes in pvp anymore? Because stasis is much stronger than most thats why. classes guns and exotics matter a lot. Don't be foolish.

                              • I agree with you, There might be differences in each class and one might be stronger in PvP but in the end it all comes down to personal skill. I too the leaderboards in nearly every match regardless of what class I’m on, My Warlock has my highest K/D and that’s meant to be the weakest PvP class...

                              • Apples and lawn furniture. Sandbox balancing only comes into play when two players of equal skill encounter one another....and it determines who has the advantage in that encounter. But in situations where there is a massive skill gap between players? The better player---even if he's playing with a dull, rusty spoon----is generally going to win. The problem with many shooter gamers is that they can't accept that they aren't as good as they think they are.....and something that is **annoying** or disrupts your personal play style isn't "overpowered" by definition. So people cry "OP" because they want advantage to their own play style....or they just can't/don't want to be bothered with trying to adapt to that thing in the sandbox/play style.

Strongly agree. I've gotten a lot better at pvp in the past year and that really does help people to see where you're coming from. The thing is that the better the player is, the more options the player has in his build to still play well. The options broaden as you get better, because your aim and general gunplay has improved, and that's all anyone needs. Like I love fighting lion, skyburner's, malfeasance, all this stuff you never see because I enjoy it and still play just as well; my only loss is my TTK. The best players are those with the gunplay and the comfort with their loadout. End of story.

                                  • There's hardly any skill in this game anyway beyond accuracy and reflexes. If I can be called trash for spamming a void fusion in the first game for either Bad Juju or Thorn in Y1 (in other words, it was for a quest), what does that say about the game? How about using Sturm and Drang a couple weeks ago when the other guy was a shotgun/ shoulder charge spamming tryhard who tbagged after every kill? How using Arbelest for the first time since it came out and being called trash by a warlock spamming pre-nerf penumbral blast with Monte Carlo and Claws of Ahamkara? How about "crutching a pulse" last season when the pulse in question was Outbreak? How do you crutch a lightweight pulse in a game where it's one of the least used archetypes/ exotics in the game? How about being called trash by a guy who's stats are barely more than half of yours and spamming Bastion when you're trying out Rat King for the first time and still do 3X better than him? If people want a game with skill, they should play something like Battlefield or Halo instead of Destiny which is basically COD with space magic.

Agree. This game isn't really a skill based shooter though, its about numbers and weapon knowledge; understanding perks, stats such as a weapons range/stability/RPM, the weapons TTK, capabilities of said weapon and where to use it - and understanding where your class fits in any location or engagement. It never really was a game for bragging about how good you are, even ever since the start of D1, it was supposed to be just a fun shooter with personal, unique loot, great weapons and amazing abilities. Most skillful shooter (as a console peasant) ive ever played will always be the Halo series, even now i could hop on there and have a great time as well as feel like i havent been cheated out of a kill or two with panic supers or abilities. Only competitive game ive ever played on PC is Overwatch, yeah it requires skill and decent aim in certain areas but that game was generally built around team involvement, if you don't have an organised team then its difficult to get shit done. Destiny in general didn't (and still somewhat doesnt) know what route it wanted to be, so take it for what it is now, its a mix of everything. No point b**ching over the game that has guns with space magic, everything isn't OP because it kills you and not everything is absolutely useless because you dont use it. All classes have their strengths as well as weaknesses.
