All the time and effort we put into grinding for god roll weapons and high stat armor is now wasted because of sunsetting. Not only does sunsetting insult our time investment, but, to add insult to injury, it was implemented in a disastrous way. To make things worse Bungie continuously defends it and says that they're trying keep the meta evolving and stimulate gear diversity. Honestly, I don't see why we need to have a meta at all. There's nearly 1000 weapons in the game, and almost all of them come with random rolls further increasing player options. However, if you want us to use the new gear you come out with each expansion; give us a reason to. Make us want to use the new gear you put out. You want to change the meta? Reward us for using specific weapons. Give us a weekly milestone to get kills using certain weapon types, and maybe add bonus progress if we use weapons from current or recent seasons. This could could be applied to to strikes, crucible, or just be a weekly pursuit to be completed however the player wishes. Give us bonus drops from raid encounters for using gear with the same restrictions. Strikes, and crucible matches could reward bonus tokens, glimmer, XP, or legendary gear. I've put over 3400 hours into this game franchise and now I feel like that entire time has been wasted by Bungie forcing us to cast aside the weapons we put into obtaining them. All the quests we completed for Mountaintop, Recluse, and Not Forgotten are just bad memories now. The quest for Felwinter's Lie even had a bug that brought it to a grinding halt for weeks. Now our time investment is rewarded with a middle finger.

1 ReplySun setting does NOT mean that weapons will be bad, it means the light would be lowered which does not mean our efforts are wasted. And if the do sunset super I will be perfectly fine with it because the older supers need some more flavor when compared to fighting stasis in crucible.

3 RepliesDon't play it if you don't like it. 🤷♂️

4 RepliesImagine still not getting over sun setting. You’re acting like a broken hearted stalker lol

2 RepliesSee, if someone in FF14 went raiding for 16 weeks to finally get all the raid gear they needed suddenly threw a tantrum on the forums, that the new Raid makes his old gear outdated, we'd all laugh and, potentially, spit at them. Not a new concept for me.

5 Repliesbeen around forever, nothing new. Some gear will be brought back.

11 RepliesEvery loot game sunsets gear. The game doesn't owe you god rolls, and doesn't owe you the "right" to keep it forever and drag it with you for the rest of the game's life.

15 RepliesWait wait wait, you mean all that time you spent sitting on your ass playing a video game was for nothing?!

you are the ultimate insult to this community

I dont have anything to say, but this: Its beating a dead horse, at this point. Its a discussion we had a million times before, and it didnt change what happened.
-
25 RepliesMaybe the obsession this community has with "god rolls" is unhealthy, unsustainable, and part of the reason that sunsetting had to be implemented in the first place?
-
1 ReplyComplaints about this now will fall on deaf ears bud. It's happened and will continue to happen and if you don't like it your only choice is to quit and play something else.
-
I agree completely. No reason to do this. It's very annoying.

Sunset works when done right. They just didn’t get it right ... at all
-
11 RepliesI agree with that it is frustrating. But one shouldn't feel insulted by game mechanics.

5 RepliesWeapons I kind of get the logic behind but not armour.. good armour is rare as anything and a huge resource sink so why they are removing it is crazy
