Low GPU usage, not CPU or RAM bottleneck

Hi there, Since BL dropped I've noticed a substantial drop in fps (like many here). I finally decided to actually check my system performance while playing and realized that my GPU usage was sitting around the 60-70% mark. Temps are great, never break 70C in either GPU or CPU, RAM and CPU usage both have plenty of headroom. I just had this issue in Cyberpunk too, and it turned out to be caused by the game not properly utilizing AMD cpu cores. I don't understand it entirely but followed a guide that had me hex edit the .exe, and after that my GPU was properly utilized and I got about a 20% performance increase. I'm wondering if something of that nature is at play here, but I don't have the technical knowledge required to look into it. Anyway I'm getting about 100-110 fps average in crucible on low settings. 3700x, rtx 3070, 16GB 3600mhz ram. Halp.

  • I'm experiencing the same problem, GPU usage bounces between 55-85% while CPU usage stays around 60%, a lot of people are suffering this issue not only in D2 and Cyberpunk, apparently is an issue with the latest NVIDIA driver (460.79). Recently upgraded to a RTX 3070 from a 980ti and I'm barely getting 10-15 fps more in D2. Hopefully NVIDIA releases a patch soon since is a very frustating issue. PS: I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 3070 and 16Gb 3600mhz so bottlenecking should be a problem here.

  • Oh! You are right! i5-8400 and rtx 2060. Does that mean I need to upgrade my CPU or is there something in the code using abnormally high usage of CPU?
