"A Guardian Rises" Step 4 Not Progressing
Doing the new "New Light" quest on a pre-existing character.
Step 4 asks you to acquire a bounty from Shaw Han, however the step hasn't progressed after picking up all of his daily bounties, and completing them.
You're currently unable to delete the "A Guardian Rises" quest, so a fix would be great.

I’m stuck at Step 4 of 4. It’s highlighted the Tower but no waypoint for who to talk to.

Was a fix ever found? Just started playing and ran into the same issue with the “Speak with the Drifter” step in the “A Guardian Rises” quest. No amount of interaction lets me progress through this step. (16 of 21)

1 ReplySame here, just started to lvl my hunter and I'm stuck on the 4th step. I've abandonned and picked up daily bounties on Shaw but nothing makes the quest progress. Blocking me from getting access to my ship and sparrow which is very gamebreaking...

I realize this isn’t going to work for everyone, but I skipped ahead to the BL campaign and when I reached the point of going to talk to Shaw Han in that story, I was able to buy a bounty and progress the guardian rises quest to step 5. I had to transfer some stuff over from my warlock and stay on the original sub class until I got this far, but at least now I can move forward. I’ll be going in with my titan next to try the same thing.

I had the same issue, but it was resolved. I just gave up and bought the bounty over and over again.

Just logged in and had the same experience as Ventee reported. Only purchasing Spitting Distance passes the quest.

1 ReplyEdited by GroovyBudha: 12/14/2020 5:19:27 PMI just logged in after the server update and was able to accept new daily quests from Shaw Han and the mission progress was there. It changed from step 4 to 5. Looks like it is running again. Hopefully it will work now stable again.

2 RepliesAcquiring "Spitting Distance" from today's list of bounties did it for me, none of the others. Bungie support in the thread seems to have determined only certain bounties are counting for it

Happening to me too... tried to start my titan today, got to step 4, purchasing the bounties did nothing. Completing one didn't help. Also tried: - deleting and remaking character - switching characters and then switching back - closing game out completely and logging back in - closing STEAM out completely and logging back in - making my friend fireteam leader so we could go to the tower and then back to cosmodrome Soooo... yeah. I'm stuck?? I guess???? Really hope someone posts a fix soon.

Same just got that bug too worst decision ever all I wanted was to change my look it's been years already an update on actual character customization would be very nice would hate to be a new player right now starting out with this happening

However, I am unable to progress the quest. While this is annoying for myself, it's a [b][i]really big deal[/i][/b] for actual newcomers! This needs to get fixed. PS4 user btw.

Same PS4 I’m going to try and delete the character and restart, but it seems like new players are really getting boned here and new players are what pay the bills and keep a game alive ? I’ll do some digging to find some more important peoples contact addresses Like president of the division and maybe if we all drop a heartfelt letter into the inboxes they will take a hard look at why the community is being ignored and new players are getting left behind. It’s insane before the f2p was basically here is how to shoot jump and slide. For new players then they get dropped off at the tower with 90% of interactions telling you to buy a dlc and the only quests you find that don’t are like hey go do a raid or pvp good luck.
