Bungie please, more controller aiming settings

Despite the HDR darks and whites being off, the next gen upgrade was a huge success. Good work, I appreciate it. But there's still the situation regarding controller options. Back in March you folks implemented patch 2.8.0, which brought button mapping for the first time to a Bungie game (or was that the console settings UI menu change?), but that was many months ago and we largely had that functionality already through official, native console apps such as Xbox Accessories. But those apps can't change the way we aim in the same way in-game aiming settings can. For instance, there's no stick dead zone or look sensitivity settings in Xbox Accessories. It mostly gets used for button mapping only because the rest of the app isn't that useful. The game (with controller input) could really use some respectable aiming settings. These settings include things like an uncapped range of look sensitivity (higher max sensitivity, 0 - 100 point system) instead of the 1 - 10 capped sensitivity system. Aim Smoothing already exists as a setting on PC Destiny 2, it should also be on consoles, as well as a few other critical settings. Sensitivity Curve settings. Stick dead zone size options, aiming down sights sensitivity that's independent of normal look sensitivity, etc. These are the types of settings we've grown accustomed to over the past 10 years or so, and it really sucks that one of my favorite games has truthfully, pretty poor aiming settings. The game looks great. Loot is decent. Content is fun. But the core of the game, the most basic fundamentals, moving, and aiming, and turning, leaves a lot to be desired. So like higher framerates and better visuals, PC players have also enjoyed better aiming settings and console players should be able to enjoy those settings too. We already do when we play other games, just not Destiny because they don't currently exist. When you prevent access to these kinds of important settings by not including them in game, you make the choice for us on how we can play the game, and removing the decision from the player's hands is not always a good thing, especially when it comes to something as important as the settings menu. I dont know if you're aware (perhaps not), but the main Destiny subreddit on Reddit has 2,000,000 subscribers. Virtually every day, there is a new posting from a different redditor asking for exactly what I've written about here. Better aiming settings. This has gone on for at least a year. A new post, from a different person, pretty much every day all asking for the same thing. There are many, many of us asking for this. These Destiny fans have gone out of their way to write these posts in an attempt to communicate their feedback about the game we all love. So far it seems to have fallen on deaf ears, or the message isn't getting through. We (the players) just don't know, Bungie hasn't said or written anything about it as far as I know. Nothing about aiming settings. But if you did add these things to the game for controller users, there's no doubt in my mind it would be just as excellent as the button mapping you added to the game way back in March 2020. So please, Bungie, we're begging you at this point. Thanks, have a great day.

  • Being able to change your aiming type, between; Linear Linear ramp Exponential ramp Etc would be extremely nice. Adjusting dead zones too. And the option to disable aim assist.

  • I'd just like my PS4 pro to shoot! Especially in as Ctucible match. ADS then press R2 and nothing. Or ADS and it's still in hip fire! Sony won't help, uninstalled as nd reinstalled, went to a pro controller, too. Nothing fixes it.
