How about if Lord Saladin brings four different weapons every IB? and for thirty tokens we get a random roll of said weapon for each time we acquire it? For example next iron banner we get to choose between the auto rifle, the side arm, the grenade launcher and the rocket launcher and for thirty tokens we get a random roll each time, that way players will get more reason to participate beyond just acquiring the pinnacle drops.
-
How else would you get the awful looking armor then? We can't respect players' time, no sir.
-
Honestly, even if it wasn't offering random rolls, it was nice back when there were specific weapons you could purchase for tokens. I don't see any reason why they couldn't add that.
-
Yeah, IB feels like it needs a system to target loot. When Forward Path was brought back last season, the first week of IB it was the only thing I cared about and I didn’t get one random roll of it after the one given to you during the IB quest. Kind of a crap feeling to see reward after reward and it’s nothing you were hoping for. The second week IB came around was better for me, but man that first week felt so demoralizing. Like D1Y1 VOG levels of bad RNG.

19 RepliesIs there even any point to getting IB gear or weapons? I dont even play it. Played a couple for the pinnacle...
-
Personally, they should bring back the armor or weapon aspect of picking rewards.
-
Are you calling for shotgun nerf? Yes I do agree with you
-
Personally I'd just like a bounty system that would allow me to target specific types of weapons.
-
I'm just tired of old weapon drops and the only two new ones keep dropping with iron gaze. Sh*t stat rolls on gear as well. Finished all three of my guardians and what a joke of the loot. I'm just tired......smh

1 ReplyAnything they can do to spice up IB would be welecomed. It just doesn't have the same feeling it use to back in D1. Also, can we please just get rid of control as the main game mode.. lets mix it up.. get clash back into the mix.
-
Bungie doesn't care about their game. They care about your cash. The passion is gone.
-
1 ReplyYou are making sense bungie don’t like that

D1 vets remember

Once I hit the max power cap... thats it for the shit show that IB is.
-
30 is too expensive, 15 is more reasonable.
-
I feel you. All I want is a Swashbuckler Steady Hand and I’ve only got 2 Steady Hands after finishing all 3 characters and handing in tokens. Both horribly rolled
-
Good idea.
-
Also the weapons should drop at the same power cap as other weapons that season. Only the hand cannon and scout rifle are dropping 1410.
-
This!
-
Yes please

What if, instead of a quest each season, every time the iron banner rolls around, your rank with saladin resets to 0. You need to spend tokens, 20 tokens each, to rank him up, capping at rank 5. Then, each rank you level up, you can buy a new random roll of a weapon or armor, with the final rank 5 being a curated roll hand made by bungie devs. The equivalent of the pinnacle drop from the quest, I.E Point of the Stag, Felwinter's Lie, Wizened Rebuke, etc. Tiers 1 and 3 are weapons with random rolls, you could buy copies of these for 30 tokens. Tiers 2 and 4 are high stat roll armor pieces, again, you could buy copies for 30 tokens. The final tier 5 unlocks the curated drop for that rotation of the event. Yes this is the exact same system as destiny 1, and yes that system for Iron Banner was way better.

2 RepliesThey had a system (I think with Forsaken era) that gave 5 pinnacle bounties 1 for each armour piece that needed completing to finish the quest (which obviously guaranteed a high stat roll piece in each slot) And I’m sure when you completed them, you could then purchase a curated ‘Claws of the Wolf’ pulse rifle Other than completing that, you only got weapons from tokens
-
Well alongside that they need to add in repeatable bounties that award 5 tokens each, cause right now getting 30 tokens takes like 2 hours for ONE drop. The token rate is 3 for a loss 5 for a win, so if you have a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT win rate it still takes a hour to get 30. Lose one game and you pretty much double your time to get 1 reward.

Edited by Yosemite Sam: 12/13/2020 5:07:22 PMIMO pinnacle drops are just another added waste of time in this game. There is way too much wasted time leveling up and in a short period of time, all our progress is whiped out for us to do it all over again and again and again and again getting us nowhere. When power, progression, leveling means nothing in this game what is anyone really getting out of this other than Bungie showing numbers?
-
I think Bungie thinks I’m a centipede. I have so many god damn boots I feel like I should be donating these to a charity in the city or something. It’s actually ridiculous.

1 ReplyBecause quite clearly that would make sense. If by some stretch of the imagination this kind of BS isn't BungLe's way of artificially ensuring you keep playing the game, then surely it's a lack of understanding their own game. Bungie's carrot to your donkey... It's the same as the farcical occurrence with pinnacle drop coding, ensuring that each week you get multiple drops of the same weapon/armor type instead of the one-piece you need. It's likely their mission statement has become "do more with less". If it can't be significantly monetized then they're not going to spend any time or manpower on it. The discarding of faction rallies and vendor refreshes are the clearest examples of this... It's this painfully obvious lack of evolution and respect for the player's time that is driving people away from the game. You could be forgiven, at this point, for thinking that bungLe is actively tanking the franchise.
