Iron Banner IS NOT BALANCED!
Now don’t get we wrong I love IB but it is most definitely NOT balanced. New Light players are getting slaughtered in IB as well as small teams going against stacked teams who are way more advanced in skill which brings me to the most important point that Iron Banner is supposed to be matched by skill which it’s not.
The other issue that plagues crucible and IB is lag and how players abuse it to their advantage. Why are laggy players even allowed to matchmake I guess is the bigger question because at the end of the day it screws teams out of an honest match.
So what do you think?

Balance? We can throw homing tornadoes at each other! The last thing Bungie care about is balance.

1 ReplyWith stasis in the game nothing is balanced. It makes raids, gambit, grandmaster nightfalls and dungeons a cake walk. It a crutch in Pvp. The entire stasis sub class in pvp is like having a Titan running around with one eyed mask and recluse during year 2 only it's even more broken than that. Lol.

1 ReplyBalance-schmalance, IB is just chokr full of cheaters. And Bungie always protect cheaters.
-
1 ReplyMatchmaking is not balanced in Crucible no matter the mode or event. Bungie's matchmaking algorithm is horrible. IB has always been laggy for some reason, even with CB, it's still laggy.

Edited by alcatraz669: 12/12/2020 6:55:55 PMI mean... it lags!!! 🤷🏼♂️

1 ReplyBring back Rift for IB 🙃

Edited by Sirpooptash: 12/12/2020 6:50:03 PMMakes no difference to me, I go in, I get rekt by everyone I then bow out when I'm sorted loot wise. I suck at PvP and I don't try to get better coz I'm a scruby noob. But hope it gets better for you though. I can't be arsed to put the effort not do I have the inclination to get better. Which I could if I tried and I got help n analyzed. But for people who do enjoy PvP I can well imagine IB is two extremes both AWESOME and Bad

Very balanced. All the laggy players seem to be matched together, and those with good connections match with each other. Just how it should be 👍
-
18 RepliesIb should be sbmm. If its meant to be part of endgame. Everyone should have to earn it.

Teams aren’t really that hard to get thrown offline, honestly. Since their entire stack is lagging thanks to the different players from around the world in their fire team, it’s not imaginative to send a few complaints against their entire 6 stack for bad connections, and your not falsely reporting either. Cause some massive chaos against their clan by telling the truth to your teammates after the match about this weakness (which is even greater damage to their credibility over several games). It’s not your fault they stacked in a video game that for some reason combines a peer to peer networking system and also rocks around a report system that allows you to file a complaint for bad connections. Virtually anyone can abuse this system and cause some real chaos to any stacked fire team since the game always gives them the lag advantage together. Peer to peer everyone.

1 ReplyJust use a chronus zen All the streamers use them

1 ReplyThere is solo matchmaking. So you have no excuses for big teams.
-
Freelance. Also, Iron Banner is endgame-tier PvP because LL is active. It's going to be hard on rookies.
-
Freelance is good, despite being top most games ive lost over 50%... yeah i get the sub 0.5 pattol stars filling up my team but its better than matching against 6 stack flawless bros fatming solos and duos

In regard to lag, monitor the time required to find the players. If you see it is taking a long time, then back out and requeue. A long wait means the search is looking for players worldwide, and you are more likely to experience an increase in lag.
-
Lol. Casuals still don’t understand the issue with IB.
-
13 RepliesIB is an endgame pvp pinnacle activity, it's not supposed to be easy.
-
1. Iron banner does have skill based match making. It was never removed for trials or iron banner. It was only changed for regular crucible 2. There’s a freelance option so you won’t be stacked against teams 3. You’re welcome

1 ReplyWell well well, people tend to forget that IB is an PvP-endgame activity. It's for those that "actually" play do play PvP outside this event and not for the casual audience. Wait, that's not true entirely. Let's put it like this: Everyone can join, but if you are less experienced you will get your Butt handed to you. The problem in this game is the notion of being entitled to everything but you're not. That's not the players fault but Bungies inability to know what this game is and whom it's for. Bungie hands most of the gear to the players and tries to fuel the so called "power-fantasy". Participation gets rewarded. That simple. PvP, on the other hand, can be a reality-check and things get emotional very fast. So what does Bungie want? Honer their concept of endgame-activities to the point, in which you have to use aim-programms to hold your own in IB? Or are they going to continue showering players for slaughtering mobs with auto-targeting abilities and James Bond villain-esque weapons? As long these questions are still out there, players will argue over this.

1 ReplyWhat stacked team are you talking about? There’s freelance ib
-
They added freelance iron banner..

1 ReplyEdited by GiantSlayer: 12/11/2020 4:25:40 PMI mean, it’s a playlist that gives pinnacle-level rewards. I don’t think it’s supposed to cater to people who just got the game. Plus, there’s a freelance playlist, so you don’t have to go up against stacked teams Also, that’s a visual bug. Iron Banner has CBMM. Idk why it still says it’s SBMM

5 RepliesEdited by --KNIGHT--: 12/11/2020 12:47:28 PMThere are two things that contribute to mercy rules. Firstly, the locking down of zones and the hunt mechanic. Usually if you want to make a comeback from that you have to lock down the zones too later on in the game. If you dont you will ultimately lose. I cannot stress this enough, but the maps are way too small. Walk 10-20 metres from your spawn and you will see an enemy ping on your radar. The Burnout, Exodus Blue and the Cauldron are prime examples of this. They were all built for 4v4, not 6v6. Skill based matchmaking for me isnt actually that bad. I've been winning more games and sometimes with higher efficiency. People actually have a brain in SBMM Iron banana. Unfortunately the same cant be said for CBMM quickplay control.

1 ReplyMost of my games yesterday were mercied one way or the other. It was laughable. I was on the winning team for a bunch, and then I was on the losing team for a bunch.
-
IB has always been a ruthless competition. The lag is always been bad regardless of which PvP activity you select.
-
New Light players will typically get slaughtered in part because they're new.
