Pinnacle gear dropping as same power level that I have equipped
I'm a newer player so it could just be ignorance, but I thought pinnacles were supposed to be 2 power levels higher than your equipped gear.
Today I got two pinnacle drops that were the same power level as the pieces I had equipped. I've been stuck at 1263 since last week.

1 ReplySame here, I posted on this subject as well. Take a look at my IB haul after 3 hours of grinding. IB should be a replacement for those who don’t like to raid, these pinnacles only went up +2 and were repeats. Another on my fireteam got +3 on all 4 and went up an entire light level. Hard work should = reward Hard work should NOT = a slim chance at rewards that varies wildly Turned in 4 completed iron banner pinnacles bounties: 1. Repeat chest armor at 1252 - zero gain 2. Repeat arm armor at 1252 - zero gain 3. Repeat arm armor (2nd time!) 1252 - zero gain 4. Heavy weapon 1252 - 1 light higher then the 1251 I have equipped Not playing this crap on my other 3 characters, just to grind 3 hours for one gain on a single weapon.

1 ReplyThe level of the pinnacle drops you’re getting is a +1 or a +2 above your “average”. So, it is quite possible you can get the same number (or lower) than the highest piece you already have. The pinnacle system sucks when you get duplicates over and over. My wife needed only 1 point on her Titan to reach 1060. After 8 weeks of drops she still couldn’t get it. Also, I never really believed the RNG claims. When you have 6 or 7 pieces that will benefit from a +1, and you keep getting the one piece that you already have, you know something is rigged against you.

1 ReplyI honestly prefered the old way when powerfuls and primes meant something when you got them. Get rid of this pinnacle bullsh*t. Tired of it.

1 ReplyHere's a tip; Dont grind for pinnacles. Cause you can get dupes on end. I once received 5x pinnacle drop in my energy slot, which I already had at 2+ over my average light lvl (1055 at the time; Energy was 1057) Unless you raid every week, hardcapping your light is annoying and time consuming for a very slim reward. you get more power out of getting XP for your artifact while doing fun stuff that you like, rather than pursuing a pinnacle drop in an activity you hate (Gambit comes to mind for me) Also, you dont need hardcapped light for anything in the game. Its a almost useless grind;

It used to be easy to hit the hard cap in destiny 1 that’s only because the heroic raid drop max light lvl gear an regular dropped soft lvl cap gear don’t know what the -blam!- we got now.

Pinnacles drop 1/2 levels above your [i]average[/i] power level. You can get “cheated” out of a drop because of this

3 RepliesIts 2 higher than your total gear score. Look at your level minus artifact. That +2.

Edited by Judd: 12/9/2020 3:10:28 PMIt's a pretty known issue and one that the die hards will defend under RNG. For me personally it has caused me to play other games. When clan mates do nothing but PVP all day long and are way ahead of me in terms of power level and season rank because my PVE rewards are continuously duplicates. When you get the same powerful and pinnacle rewards over and over again it will certainly make you look for something else to spend time on. This is what caused much of my clanmates to reduce their play time. Again it's something bungie continues to ignore and hide behind RNG. So if this is upsetting you now I would suggest you find something else to occupy your gaming time. You will not find it gets any better.
