Having watched a couple of videos from the self-appointed speakers for the community.
I never felt less understood and more disconnected to these guys than now.
Don't misunderstand me - I like explanation/grind/cheese videos helping me out and doing something better than I do on my own.
But listening and hearing this DLC has run out of content, nothing to chase for, everything done...
Which planet are these people - no-lifers or say better professional players - living on?
I am not even done with all quests/stasis build of my main Titan. I rule out that I will run a 2nd and 3rd time through the same grind just to get the same fragments/aspects for Warlock and Hunter. Just way too much work.
I am struggling with soloing all these legendary sectors. 1250 challenging, 1280 so far out of reach.
Deep Stone Crypt not a single attempt so far and still running behind upgrading both Variks and Crow.
I know I will be occupied for weeks to come, most likely for the rest of this season.
And still having fun.
Yes. I can hear it already. So called hardcore veterans now chiming in, git gud, and "I finished everything within the first 24 hours"-bragging but there are people out there working for a living, enjoying some entertainment play which this - imho very good - expansion (not talking about sunsetting) will satisfy for a long time.
Youtubers, please don't claim to talk for me. You appear to just be arrogant and detached kids.
I understand these people never having worked hard for a living and capitalizing on other people donating them money that they depend on new "content" otherwise they had to start working themselves - but that's not me. And potentially that's not many of us.
Have a nice Sunday!

and BUngie gives to that guys some rare emblems, they give that to so called influencers, and youtubers, and they dont generally care about other people, who maybe dont have time, place, material to be content creators, and those are the people we give our money to play this game and they dont care. Enough said

17 Replies"yOuTuBeRs" and "sTrEaMeRs" are cancer's to the industry of gaming and need to never be taken seriously. They're stay-at-home dad's while their "wives" go to work. It's pretty sad honestly. Never take their word for anything. They're puppets to the dev studio's.

Edited by x___ICHI___X: 12/9/2020 8:23:32 PMEver heard the old line squeaky wheel gets the grease. These people have huge voices compared to the rest of us. Most game devs look at the fan base as utter morons who couldnt balance a game if they tried. Want an example Division they listened to the fan base tweaked the game based off the comments of a few power gamers *looking at you marcostyles and skillup* What did that game becomes same overpowered skillsets chicken dancing in the darkzone till one person ran out of cooldowns. And raids pigeon holed into running a super broken combo just to complete a raid. The fan base here is no different. Everyone saying what killed them is OP or Broken. What they like is underpowered needs a buff. Content creators....what a joke of a term. What content did they create. A video showing vendor resets? Raid strategies they "barrowed" from somewhere else? Streamed 6hrs of PVP? Tell you like and subscribe for more content like the next 3 pages of videos posted in the last 24hrs. All boasting about some build they made, but just happens to be an exact copy of the videos above and below. Yes content creators..... not sure what content or what they are creating. Using someone else game, using some elses ideas and 6 hrs of pvp...... mmmmm now that's entertainment. Want to be a content creator for Destiny. Do a daily reset video, weekly reset video. Use a gun cutout. Guardian cutout. Boss cutout. Place is on a background of some flashy destiny locale, pick a font and put "Superduperkillemall build" or "Use this glitch to get free exotics" post daily just switching the words, edit together 1hr of pvp using just the choice bits. We shall call this "Content Creator Welcome Kit" and you too can be a "Content Creator" Dont forget to grab some focus energy powder and push that like an aging sportfigure "How to I keep my head in the game and pwn. I guzzle C.reators U.nrivaled M.ix it helps me focus and stay awake for these long gunfights."

this post a million times over never has there be something on these god forsaken forums that I agree with

Well said. Too many gamers see these content creators as celebrities of a sort. So they fail to understand that they aren’t really gamers. They are business owners whose product/service is gaming. So most of them want a game like this to have endless content (so they can play it 8 hours a day) and to be as inaccessible as the community will tolerate...short of having it hurt interest in the game. (Come watch me do the things you can’t/ don’t have time for). At the end of the day they are free to say what they want. One would hope they would use their platforms responsibly rather than selfishly, but it’s their platforms. It’s up to Bungie to understand that what they want is often not in the best interests of the game z. It’s up to us to be smart and not swallow everything they say without thinking about it...and keeping their biases in mind. So, like you, we can call them out when they are acting in ways that are damaging to the game, and does not reflect the interest of the average player.

8 RepliesSure youtubers may not "physically" work hard. But it can be a "mentally" tough field to be in. I couldn't imagine how stressful it is for them. You don't know how their lives are or what they're going through.
-
This is so true totally agree with you
-
For real. People really out here playing like at least 8 hours a day 5 days a week then complaining that there’s no content
-
1 ReplyReplaying on 2nd and 3rd characters isn't content imo.. its nothing new. There is nothing to do in this dlc.. there is no loot in this dlc.. the season sucks and there is zero reason to play the new "activity" its terrible.. this whole update is terrible
-
2 RepliesI don’t think there are very many YouTubers/Streamers that claim to speak for everyone or frankly anyone other than themselves and maybe their dedicated viewer base at most. They aren’t disconnected—they have their own opinions from their unique perspective on the game. Whether you agree or not is up to you.
-
They don't represent the best of us. These players overindulge because they need to. They need to produce content fast enough to be first, to be popular, to get the clicks or they don't get money. Of course if they sit on their arse for 8+ hours a day, they'll have nothing to do after a couple weeks. They habitually do this and never sit and think it's their fault for facerolling what's given to them. Despite what people say, streamers do not give what the devs want. They don't bust their arse making things for us to do to see it done in 5 seconds. Or are we going to say the corridors of time puzzle back when was meant to be solved in a day? You people in the thread need to get a clue. Streamers in general play for themselves and ask you to support their lifestyle so they can keep playing the game. Mind you the destiny "clique" believe they have the keys to the community and can shut you away, tell you what to be mad at, tell you what to think, tell you that your day one raid clear was a handout, and also rile people up to push political agendas. They each are one person, one voice. they don't speak for you or I.

1 ReplyBuddy, i work 2 jobs. Theres literally nothing to do anymore but wait for reset and run the raid again. This game is in need of content.
-
But they aren't wrong. Destiny is no longer sustainable as it used to be. Infrequent updates, everything timegated is basically a quest that most players can finish in an hour as it's released. Bungie removed so much (with good reason, not arguing that) And now the honeymoon phase with the new content is over the gaps in the gameplay loop are really beginning to show. It also doesn't help that this seasonal activity is very very light and nothing new has come out of it since it launched. The day to day gameplay after you finish your weekly chores is back to what people hated most in seasons past...bounties I'm not a super elite player and I've practically run out of the things I'm able to do besides leveling my Titan, but that's such a chore and would only take a day or 2 regardless. I can imagine many creators have literally nothing to do or talk about.

So much of this is confusing...
-
Ah yes, The people that make a career out of the game are the people that are too fast. Yeah, You don’t have an opinion if you barely play the game.
-
You're all being just as toxic as the streamers you're accusing of being toxic. Its a video game. If you don't make a living off of it, you shouldn't let it bother you this much.
go play outside
-
2 RepliesIf you look at what bungie have removed form the game then look at what has been added you can you thet we losst a lot more then we got and i just do not buy what bungie told us about the volting being do to needing more space do not get me wrong i am not 1 of the people who get all my info form YouTube and use help videos i do not copy how YouTubeers play i conpleted all of d1 without YouTube and all of D2 a lot of the big YouTubeers r not as good as tha think tha ar and its more fun to find your own way to do it but this time the YouTubers r right
-
1 ReplyThere are just to many of them for this game and they all do the same exact thing for the most part and Bungie tends to listen to them to much. You have around 15 major youtubers/streamers/contentcreators/influencers for this game then about 10 other lesser known less poplar ones then another 15 or so minor ones that come and go and bounce around between this and other games. That's just to many. A few of them seem pretty cool and I just feel bad for them that they focus 95% of their energy and attention on just this one game. And there is no mistaking that if a lot of these content creators left to play other game permanently a lot of the games player base would also leave. If a guy like Aztecross or datto quit the game the player base would drop by 10% at least.

Edited by Cloaked Onyx: 12/8/2020 2:23:11 AMI work 40 hours a weeks from 3pm to 11:30pm and I was able to do everything within 4 weeks. Completed the raid on day 1 and got the rest of the Triumphs along with flawless a few weeks later, did the 1250 and 1280 lost sectors, and maxed out Variks and Crow. Right now, I'm running LFG raids to get Spoils.
-
Hear - hear! Spoken like a true Fanboy-Evangelist.
-
I only get to play on the weekends and already got all my characters up to 1260 and got all the guests done. This DLC is a joke.
-
5 RepliesI don't understand what others are doing differently to level up quick. I play a lot and I'm only getting gear 1 or 2 levels above what I have, and I'm not wasting resources on that extra level. I haven't attempted master lost sectors or master empire hunts and not even looked at joining a crypt raid. Slight subject change, since Season of the hunt is temporary focus on that more. If you can, choose the target that is rewarding reckon data, add a modifier that grants extra reckon data which can be picked up from crow, and you should level up quicker.

Just saying this now, but i don't usually deal in poltics like this, but this be my 2nd time actually looking at the fourms, n outside of a few gems of good clean posts, 9/10 of them are, frankly, just b##ching to b##ch, n the same goes for youtubers, yes ik they are working their a$$es off to entertain us, but just like them, i got done with the campaigh day 1, but am i complaining there's no content? No. am i saying there is though? Hell no! they've given us content, we've consumed it, there's still stuff to do, they don't see it as content however. N yur the only one saying that their the speakers of the community, just as they say that there's no content, in the end it's just damn opinions they want to share, just as yur attention seeking a$$ shared yur opinion with us. Like i said i don't play in these stupid politics, but yur no different then the youtubers. Everyone complaining in the fourms is, n i'm tired of being the only one that actually sees it. On that note... Have a nice monday!

You have no clue if they have worked hard or not. I can think of one streamer who was top of the directory. Then he got cancelled by liars, but he’s been back and pulling better numbers than he was before. He put in lots of hard work to fix his situation and rebuild his business. If you think you just start up twitch or YouTube and suddenly you have 10s of thousands of followers you are mistaken. It takes time and work to build viewership to the point of actually being a sustainable business. I’ve got a cushy federal gov job, and I’m sure you’d say I didn’t have to work a hard day in my life. But my 15 years of service to my country, 6 combat deployments, and years away from my family was the hard work I put in to get where I am today. Don’t just judge people because YOU think they don’t work hard. Imo you might be a little jealous that they get to play video games for a living and you’re stuck pumping my shit out of my septic tank.
