Warlock Stasis Melee

Look, as a warlock main I knew and agreed during the first week that the warlock stasis subclass needed to be reined in a bit to be fair. However, the stasis melee has become almost useless in PvE. The amount of accuracy needed for the perfect distance to be both far enough away you don’t facepalm the enemy but not so far away that your melee falls short and is wasted is almost surgical and definitely in need of revamping.

  • I've been running hero difficulty nightfall like it's crack the last couple days and been using it constantly among my tools..no issues here. You need to get used to it. There's nothing wrong with it. ALSO JUST GOT MY SWEET BUSINESS CATALYST YES I AM STILL EXCITED FINALLY GD.

    • Prime example of the need to separate sandboxes. They ruined that class for ice based on a crucible decision. It needed adjusting in crucible but dam it sucks when okaying a raid or strike now.

      • Hunter apes couldn’t handle a counter, just like hhsn. Bungies first sandbox priority is ALWAYS to please the hunters. That’s why they gave them the shatterdive combo and a teleport.

          Is dog 💩 now. The range is worthless. Had to come back for an edit. If it was done to satisfy PVP then you guys went about it all wrong. It went from hitting at range to baiting someone around a corner to do the exact same thing, freeze shotgun. I've come across players doing this already to compensate, and I'm not gonna lie, I've done it myself. They have done nothing to stop it's use and a nerf that was really unwarranted. I get the rest of the nerf, but the melee doesn't work properly for pve. And the fact that you guys had to nerf vesper of radiance because people found a way of getting around a 💩 melee just adds to a constant string of nerfs because players are inventive with your own system. When players make strong builds with the laid out system, the first thing that is said is always " not working as intended". Does anyone play test this stuff, or do they think we aren't very bright?

        • IMO, the best thing to do is to make its range pre nerf in PvE, whereas let its range in PvP stay the same post nerf

            • Yeah, you warlock guys got screwed. I'm a hunter main, but I really like using the warlock. I finally got around to running him through the campaign this week, and his whole stasis thing is sh*t. Then I ran the titan through. Yeah, the warlock needs some attention. It was definitely a let down.

              • I think the freeze duration needs an extra half sec for the melee so that melee focused exotics carinstien armlets, and felwinters grasp have more of a place in crucible as well or the base freeze melee should do more damage

              • After using warlock for about a week, shadebinder is still strong as a defensive pvp subclass and a broken cc pve class comparatively to the other stasis classes. The range on the melee could be bumped but it good enough with 4 fragment slots and easy freezing

              • All of the stasis melees need to be looked at. My Titan propels through an enemy target sometimes and often pushes the enemies out the way and whiffs on by.                 • Now that the full kit is out for all classes I dont think warlock was honestly that far ahead of the other two.

                  • They just really need to implement hold melee button to do powered melee or press it to punch. The same issue exists on hunter where you want to throw your knife but you punch if the enemy is too close it's frustrating.

                    • The Melee needs to proc either when normally shooting out the Bolt... Or when face smacking someone. Due to the Range of the default warlock Melee you just get sucked in and lunch an enemy when you are trying to jump or glide back to shoot your Blast. With the stupid need, they need to add a 2nd way of Proc the ability.

                    • It only bothers me in pvp when it won’t activate because my target is too close. In PVE it’s still ridiculously powerful.

                      • I don’t play any more crucible than the minimum I can get away with, so it can stay as is in pvp for all I care. Pve though needs putting back to pre nerf.

                          • I think with all the other nerfs that hit shadebinder the melee range should have been left alone, it's speed was reduced and freeze time neutered. The only other way to fix the melee atm would to be able to have it proc from contact distance to where it sits now as I'm often finding I'm too close to proc it.

                            • I play all 3 classes but I havent noticed a need for the range increase. Its a melee ability, not a sniper ability. I know that the chaos reach melee has a longer range and has splash damage but I think its a fair tradeoff for being able to insta freeze targets from range. If any stasis melee should be reworked it should be the titan one since its extremely bipolar in whether it activates or you just melee the air, not to mention its only useful for shattering stasis crystals and doesn't do anything else. Titans got shafted with stasis and no one seems to be complaining about that, makes me think some people are just ungrateful for what they have. Warlock players constantly complain about the stasis melee and the void subclass being weak when Titans LITERALLY have 6 subclasses that are all essentially fists of havoc (all Void supers, top and bot tree Arc supers, and stasis super) with minor changes.

                              • If the nerf to melee has made it harder for you in pve I think the problem is you. Other than 1280 activities pve is easy, you could go through an entire nf, strike etc without using any abilities and still complete it easily
