Years ago, I had linked my old xbox account to this bungie.net account. Deleted the xbox account without thinking of unlinking it here, along with the email it was linked to. Now when I am trying to do crossave, I cannot continue without authenticating this xbox account that no longer exists. Cannot unlink it from my profile without signing into the account. See the problem? just came here for any advice, not sure if I'd have to contact xbox support or if I'm SOL in regards to crossave.
edit : got it working, disregard

In order to unlink an account, you must be able to authenticate it, which means you must be able to log into it. Bungie cannot forcibly de-link it. I would suggest contacting the platform concerning recovering your Steam account. This will save you a lot of trouble and let you keep your current Bungie.net profile. If you are unable to gain access to your Steam account, then you will not be able to unlink it from your current Bungie.net profile. If you're trying to set up cross-save, then your only option will be to create a new Bungie.net profile and then unlink/relink the accounts you actually want to that new Bungie.net profile. Just keep in mind that if you go with the new Bungie.net profile, you will lose access to the code-granted bonuses you've redeemed on Bungie.net because those are tied to your current Bungie.net profile. You can see what you'll lose here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/Codes

4 RepliesThe authentication system is there for security reasons and Bungie will not bypass it for any reason. Your only options are.... Work with Microsoft. Create a new Bungie.net account and connect the accounts you want to it.

You'll need to contact MS to regain access to the account. That is the only way you will be able to unlink it here.
