Exotic Cipher Quest For Xur Is Bugged Upon Completion When A Cipher Is Already In Your Inventory
I had the quest completed for Xur to redeem an Exotic Cipher. I already had an Exotic Cipher in my inventory though, but wanted to buy the piece of gear off of him that he was offering. Upon talking to him he gave me the text as if I were to complete the quest, I didn't receive an Exotic Cipher and it did not go into my Postmaster either. I bought the Exotic Armor off of Xur, spent my current Exotic Cipher, and not I am not able to redeem the current quest one I completed. I feel like I should have an Exotic Cipher added to my inventory and in the future if you already have one in your inventory, it should stay in your Postmaster until you use your current one or skip the quest completion if you already have one in your inventory.

Just happend to me I used my Cypher from last week came to xur and no quest why bungie

Same thing just happened to me, checked inventory, PM and restarted game, still nothing. Bungie needs to fix this issue and all the others that drive people away from their game. How could they ignore an issue as large as not getting your reward from an exotic quest.

I have had a cipher in the postmaster in the past before beyond light (currently have an empty PM) but when completing the quest for Xur, having a cipher in my inventory already, the quest was removed and I did not receive an additional cipher. This is an oversight Bungie. If I finish the quest steps I should either receive the reward or i should not be able to complete the quest at Xur. Please advise. PS: I am also unable to pick up the quest for this week. Just a little salt with that burn 👍🏼 Edit: Clarity Edit2: PS.

1 ReplyI also just completed the quest for Xur for the exotic cypher but I did not receive my cypher! It was not in my inventory or vault. I also have one in my season pass that I am afraid to claim because of this. This needs to be fixed ASAP! I have a couple exotic weapons I need to get and I can't do that without the cypher. If I had 50 cyphers I need to be able to use them period! Who can I get in contact with to resolve this issue!?

4 RepliesSame thing here. Completed.the quest no exotic cypher reward. I didnt have any exotic ciphers in my inventory. I had two in the vault. This quest is bugged. I want this fixed and I want my missing quest reward/exotic ciphers.

if u have 1 cipher on your inventory u cant get another one i hope was helpful

Exotic Ciphers are limited to one per account, whether it is located in your Inventory or stored in your vault. You will have a chance to earn another Exotic Cipher when Xur returns next weekend; you may want to spend any Ciphers before completing the quest in order to avoid repeating the same thing happening next weekend.
