They're gay, and in a relationship.
Now before I get called a homophobic whatever whatever buzz word buzz word buzz word, try to hear me out.
If they were gay all along, as stated on twitter...then they did a horrible job showing it to the general audience. All their interactions have more of a leaning towards a teacher and student, brothers in arms, or even just friends.
After all, when they meet one calls the other "brother" and seems like Osiris is seeing a ghost and is just glad to see his friend again. A friend he was technically responsible for the death of.
Maybe I'm just a dumb hetero and I can't see the clear subtext implying their relationship...but this is coming way out of left field.
I don't care about a character's sexuality or sexual preference, just have it make sense if you're going to change it from another or change it from being ambiguous.
It's either it's there for internet brownie points, or it was there all along and the lore writers did a terrible job of showing it.

1 ReplyBigger question is, is it a gay relationship when one of the parties involved is a genderless robot powered by Vex milk? Asking for a friend.

1 ReplyI could've sworn that Osiris calls Saint his ally or something in the Season of Dawn trailer. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

When your game is so starved of attention and content, and you decide to turn a bunch of characters gay. 😴

Edited by Dredgen_Chemist: 11/30/2020 7:16:07 PMIt's the virtue signal, Batman! Maybe one day the writing team will take more time to write compelling campaign narratives instead of virtue signalling on Twitter. Ask J.K. Rowling how making Dumbledore gay helped her, Bungie, it will be enlightening. For the record, I don't care that Saint and Osiris are gay, but that "always have been" part, I'm pressing "x" to doubt on that.

4 RepliesEdited by RapturousRex: 11/30/2020 7:04:33 PMAchilles and Patroclus has a brothers in arms/teacher-student vibe. Were still gay. Alexander and Hephaestion were brothers in arms, and lovers. Was pretty common back then. I guess it was possible at the time to be both. No reason it can’t be here.

It might be a fair criticism that the lore writers failed to really be clear about the nature of their relationship. I only skimmed the tweets that announced this officially so I’m not sure, but I think the idea was that they just wanted to imply it instead of take focus from the characters and put it on their relationship. As you can see from the response that was probably a reasonable approach.
