I have absolutely nothing against homosexuality before I say this but .... Would it make more sense to spend time making the game work for longer than 5 minutes before writing stories about romance???
-
53 RepliesI think that story wise, it would have been better if they were just bros instead of lovers. It makes more sense and I think that making them gay cheapens the story. A bond of brothers forged in battle is so much cooler than being in love.

I see this as a definitive move for all Gays to be flocking to Destiny in their 100000s to play Solely because of Saints and Osiris's sexual preference Well done Woke at Bungie
-
3 RepliesEdited by Lord Kielron: 11/30/2020 2:51:18 AMYeah be careful with this, as a ninja locked a similar topic because discussing characters’ relationships, that a Bungie writer changed it to suddenly, is supposedly against the CoC now.

1 ReplyThe game needs more straight representation.

7 RepliesEdited by OUndyingO: 11/30/2020 3:39:39 AMNo they’re brothers read pigeon and the Phoenix. Idc what he says, in war stories at the end saint calls him brother, go read it. They weren’t gay from the start David is just forcing homosexuality into the lore for personal reasons. It’s not professional!

4 RepliesIt's hard to respond to this as I have not read their lore...but I see some people who did that didn't see this being their relationship. If it's not clear from the beginning...who's going to believe it was the case years later? Feels like that soldier 76 incident again where they just made him gay because they could with not much to connect the dots with that made you arrive at that answer. This type of stuff that's just "oh wait, now they are this because we said so" in games, movies and books is getting old. Just properly establish it from the beginning, don't wait until the last minute to twist and put spotlight on a point that shouldn't even matter in an effort to please a different audience. It just feels so...dishonest.

2 RepliesI'm literally sat here laughing at every post saying that there was nothing to suggest this was a thing before Beyond Light like Eris and Drifter didn't drop a massive hint last season that it was probably a thing. Or that the Festival of the Lost items didn't also hint at it in their lore. Like friends so close they see each other as brothers couldn't possibly see each other as something more than that. As lovers. Because guess what folks, that kind of relationship does exist, whether it be a natural progression of things or because you are questioning how you actually see someone. I would know. That's kinda how my current relationship came about. Y'all just mad because your faves are gay. God forbid we take two guys from your massive straight pool.
-
4 RepliesEveryone saying how they randomly added it... like... wow you all didn't read the lore or listen. If you're mad about lgbt+ themes on a game, I think you may need to reevaluate your priorities. People are gay, it's normal. Just like being straight is. Plus, Destiny isn't a dating sim, so they aren't going to hyper focus on relationships and sexualities anyway.
-
8 RepliesHow come every romantic pairing in Destiny is a gay couple?
Always brush your teeth.
13 RepliesWhy aren’t there heterosexual relationships? Asking for a friend.

1 ReplyEdited by Grave Solace: 11/30/2020 12:24:38 AMCareful somebody else made this exact post and a ninja locked because we're consumers of their product we're not allowed to discuss such things, we're only supposed to consume without question

Big question: Why?
-
1 ReplyThis is horrible. I thought they were brothers? Why would they throw in this garbage?
-
1 ReplyI’ll repeat myself: That has nothing to do with the lore of the game and it serves no purpose.
-
16 RepliesThis is a joke right. They are like brothers. Making them gay is just a pointless move because they had no lore to say otherwise. Just makes it feel like that overwatch drama. They made someone gay who had stuff that was against that.
-
5 RepliesEdited by aequus: 11/30/2020 4:24:37 AMThe fact that anybody cares about this is funny to me. However, I will say it's equally as entertaining watching all of these companies overcompensate and try to be politically correct as well. You can literally see right through it either way, who the hell cares if they're gay or not lol.

1 ReplyOsiris always seemed trans. Is that still gay?

Edited by True: 11/30/2020 10:05:27 AMThe only single concession that I can make about this is that PERHAPS the only reason we are starting to see this now is because Saint was pretty much dead for years, up until Dawn. So theoretically speaking there was a long period of time where this relationship, whatever the -blam!- it is, was just dead in the water. Don't get me wrong, this recent chain of shit still spits in the face of all the Saint and Osiris lore we've received before, fundamentally changing the context and subtext of literally every other piece of lore that we've gotten about them up until this point, as well as turning a cool brothers-in-arms fighting a metaphysical war with space magic aspect into a bland "I followed you because I love you stupid!" type of story that we've seen so much of. But still, a single concession.

Edited by EliteSpartan: 11/30/2020 6:18:18 AMThe problem I have with it is the jk rowling style of writing as in "now this character is X" the writer who posted this had personal motivations (being lgbt) and did not put it in the game or a bungie article only on his own Twitter. Overall the idea isn't bad (even though I perfer the brothers in arms) but the implementation is horrible.(edit also who really cares a massive evil fleet of pyramid ships are coming and bungie is writing a fan fic)
-
I kinda just see it as forced ngl. I didn't really see any implication of romance up until to Sagira's sacrifice. Any relationship I saw before then seemed platonic, with my thought of them to be brothers in arms.

No wonder my felwinters lie smells like shitt. 😜

Nope.

2 RepliesDon’t remember reading this in the lore
