Drifter hasn’t come to terms with sunsetting.
In that one CGI scene with Drifter, Eris, and the Stranger, I noticed that Drifter was using Trust. After it was sunset. [spoiler]Bruh moment.[/spoiler]

Trust is the Drifters weapon, it makes sense that he still has it. Bungie sunset the weapons for playability not for story purposes, unless you want to include lore for how each and every weapon was deactivated by the presence of the darkness.
