Having to solo Legendary Lost Sectors for a small chance at exotics is the least fun thing in the game.
The drop chance is almost non-existent anyway, so what's the point of making us solo them? Why can't we grind them with friends for the exotics?
People find this fun or challenging? It's a boring grind made even more boring by being forced to play solo. Literally the definition of Destiny.

3 RepliesI think most commentors have said the things that are important, to both sides of the coin. But I will be sticking with the idea, that it was a good change to implement solo sectors. Finally exotic armor is not just world drop, you actually gotta do smth for it. For hardcore players (or at least very good ones) this still is as good as nothing, but to the vast majority of the fanbase who just wants to play casually now have a reason to get better at the game and maybe have fun at endgame, while still playing Destiny solo. And yes I was in that category not long ago. None of my friends played Destiny so I stuck to myself. I am happy to finally see change. Also it is not like the exotics are ONLY exclusive to solo sectors. After you aquired one in the sector it will become a world drop, believe it or not. So just grind a sector until you have the new one and play your nightfalls again (Im refering to this since it was brought up in the comments here). So if you feel uncomfortable getting this solo because it might be hard, boring or whatever, just notice that most people playing videogames do it for fun and don't usually have a clan full of people wanting to raid. But apparently the destiny community can never be happy :L

I agree! They won’t give us solo strikes bc of their koombaiyology! But they make us grind on low drop rates for exotics in solo lost sectors. I often wonder if they ever look at the forums at what their player base is screaming at them.

Been playing Destiny since alpha, THOUSANDS of hours, never done a raid, would like to just haven't. Need to find a group of chill cats. I suck at crucible, and even though I run a tight setup for lost sectors still have yet to finish one. I get the grind for exotics and you should feel like you earn them, but we all play different and should have different challenges to earn them. Or better put multiple ways to earn them, there are some amazing hard core destiny players that rock that shit and should be rewarded, but then there are pleebs like me that run the same setup but get squashed over and over again without anything but frustration in the end. Watch videos, tutorials, and guides and do the exact same thing but get a completely different result. Run the same setup, same gear, same rolls but fall far short of expectations. I have said it since jump, needs to be a variety of ways to earn an exotic, I don't want to do things that I dislike to get an exotic. Like I said should be challenging and feel rewarding...still remember when I got my Gallahorn just before it became useless lol, but should be challenges people enjoy, not one linear way to earn them.

I've tried multiple times to solo a lost sector but never can get it done so I just quit trying.

Still, last time when I run for Exodus Garden 2A lost sector in cosmodrome I got about 4 exotics from 6 or 7 runs, 3 of them was brand new 1 of them already had. Still, this makes me think if there is a way to increase the drop rate. Like maybe defeating every single enemy without skipping anything or completing it in a certain amount of time. I, for one, make sure to wipe out everything that moves. Also, a tip for Exodus Garden 2A which is my favorite, use Black Talon if you have it. Right after entering the boss room, take a right turn and take cover behind long wall of containers. Then just jump and snipe them from a distance with Black Talon. Just like playing peek-a-boo. 5 or 6 hits kills the big one while 2 at most kills the smaller servitors. (It also works wonders on champions.) Also, it seems there is something about a talk of exotics no longer being a world drop (if I understand it correctly) but I just got Telesto today from a fallen when doing beyond light main quest for my titan...

9 RepliesDisagree. Was very glad to see they kept exotics out of the world pool. Being guaranteed all the new exotics quickly with little effort lessens their value to the player. There can be exotics that are easy to get or are just random drops but I think there is a place for exotics that are difficult to earn, at least at launch. I don’t foresee many people calling these lost sectors difficult once on or above power, and that’s the balancing factor. Every player can get these, but how quickly depends on their skill and dedication.

2 Repliesi ran the labyrinth one 4 times today on 1250, got the hunter helmet. drop rate seems fine to me lol is one of the easiest out there! if you struggle maybe engage the brain and try different loadouts instead of just moaning?

3 RepliesSorry m8 Complete disagree Its taken me 23 runs to obtain 3 of the new exotics That isn't an issue thats a fair drop rate The sense of achievement of getting my builds ready too has been fun Learning it for less and zero deaths and keeping to time has been fun Yes there have been a few having to walk away from the game for a few mins of fresh air bc of frustration due to a couple of champion bugs Still fine though, they have and are fixing it I'm more than happy to farm this for better stats too

1 ReplyI ran a ton of em' yesterday, killed all the champions and the boss. Opened the chest and... nothing. Not even any glimmer or a blue. "Rare" is a misleading term. It should be more like "Very Rare" or "Elusive".

Should try doing the master lost sector and still getting nothing but glimmer. That was a right pain. Think the legendary lost sectors are much better to deal with, takes less time and it's much easier. Be nice if you had an option to select the gear type to drop rather than a rotation through helmet gauntlet chest or legs

As a diablo and Path of Exile fan, I love it. This is what loot games were about back then: farm runs. When I got Cloudstrike to drop, it was very fulfilling. Reminded me of how special it was to get a Gjallarhorn in the first game.

I love it and am thankful they added it. Targeted reward system is gold. I like the lost sectors as well.

I disagree. I think it is the best thing they have done for new exotics. Gives a goal to achieve and EARN my exotics

Having some level of difficult makes them way more rewarding to get. I felt way more excited about getting my necrotics after working my booty off, then I did opening an exotic engram for monty carlo in shadowkeep. Exotic quests are the ideal, but development time is limited, so having a challenge associated is a nice change of pace. (RNG does kinda suck though not gonna lie, super annoying to see someone get it 1st try and have to run it 10 myself. Having some normalization around that would be nice) If they let you bring in a fireteam of 3 all the difficulty would be gone, or they would have to be scaled up to compensate, this is a great way to finally give solo pve players a way to grind exotics.

Completely agree. You build the game around fun with friends and 3 man fireteams and then make this. Why? What’s the point? Some people hate this. Myself included. At least add another way to get the new exotics. I didn’t pay all that money for this. I paid for new fun exotics. Not new loot caves that I will ignore as soon as I get it like we always do.

Taking exotic grind from 1/90 to 1/30 to get what stat blend you want is much more manageable. Getting my Dawn and Astrocyte with recov and discipline will be much easier once I can do master ones.

4 RepliesWhen you first do the lost sector, say for the gauntlets, you should get the pair you haven't got on that character. After that, you're then in the realm of rng again. I think I looked the other day on a character and there were 9 exotic gauntlets. So you have a one in 9 chance of getting the ones you want, then you have to hope you get the roll you want. For most players who've been playing for a while, it's a get the new beyond light exotic then never do it again.
