Okay im a little heated and here's why.
I seen this helm and was amazed and super excited to get it. well spoiler alert, its complete garbage.
1. 10 second debuff of "light shift" keeps your dodge from starting to cooldown.
2. I made a specific build just to counter the light shift de-buff and its still only a 12-13 second total cooldown IF you have grenades and two melee charges using the mods; bolstering detonation and focus strike being excellently paired with our whisper of refraction fragment. Which without bakris makes for instant cooldowns on your dodge. So if you do this action: dodge, throw duskfield nade, throw two shurikens. Makes for an instant dodge cooldown well thats limited to how fast your next set of nade and melee comes back but atleast without the bakris you have your dodge on a normal cooldown depending on your mobility so running 100 mob will have an 11 second cooldown with the combo it makes for dodges all the time.
Why is there an appealing exotic in a trailer but really once you get it its complete trash and dumb to use. That was a complete waste of my time wanting this exotic so bad I ran it 6 times until I got it and at 1232 light so it was almost impossible without my celestial nighthawk and thermal overload. It took about 10 attempts till I got a strategy down that was effective.

2 RepliesI just don’t understand why we get a buff for 10 seconds that doesn’t actually do anything but prevent us from getting our dodge back. It would be a lot better and more viable if it was just a 10 % buff to all damage in pvp. Then the 10 seconds would actually be worth it.
-
I wish it granted the ability to ACTUALLY blink, instead of a long invisible roll. Cause that’s all it really is.
-
Its meant for 1v1s and in which case it does its job very very well. In big groups just slap on wormhusk instead. Problem solved. Exotics are supposed to be a single useful perk, not a catchall that makes you invincible.
-
its better for the slower game modes. It will be the best exotic for trials for hunters.
-
It is literally the best get out of jail free card in the game. Better than Wormhusk even. It needs to have that additional cooldown.
-
This thing has gotten me out of so many bad situations in Crucible and pairs well with what I work with. If you’re not enjoying it then you might not be using it correctly. I feel it’s more of a PvP armor with some PvE perks but if used right you’ll tear through people and piss off some players

Edited by Alveenia: 11/25/2020 3:59:41 AMThis thing is designed for PVE and dueling situations in PVP. In a tight 1v1 you won't be dodging twice no matter what you're wearing, because everything ends in seconds of time. So this helmet is useful to surprise your opponents. In PVE it's valuable. More damage is always good. I won't use this in a 6v6 or 3v3 though. Worm husk, or Six Coy + winter's shroud are miles better.

Edited by Bear: 11/24/2020 11:10:57 PMThis exotic is phenomenal. If we were able to spam it like you want it would be broken and nerfed.

58 RepliesLol and there it is. Hunters be like "Give hunters blink!" "Hunters need blink back!" "Why can't hunters have blink too???" Bungie gives y'all blink Now hunters be like "Here's why this was a bad idea" "It was a bad change" "This is why we don't like bungie"

3 RepliesEdited by Mr Delicious76: 11/24/2020 2:14:15 PMIt’s not garbage, and with 100 mobility it’s only a 13 second cooldown after light shift. It’s not meant to be spammed, it’s a 10 meter phase shift. It’s meant to get you out of a tight situation and it does so very effectively. If you’re a hunter that relies on dodge in a lot of gunfights then this exotic might not be for you, but it is very strong in almost every situation. Honestly some of the most fun I’ve had on my hunter with bakris
-
9 RepliesDunno man. It’d be pretty OP with half the cooldown. I think there would be a cry for nerfs on the forums. I’m all for a buff for it coz it’s pretty cool but I’d also like my Mantels buffed too if that was to be the case. As it stands the cool down on these exotics stop them from being broken. Just my humble opinion.
-
just run a high mobility build, thats all there is to it. bakris kicks ass in pvp and is even sorta useful in pve, plus its fun as hell.
-
It's just a balancing mechanic as of now..... it could change if they see it as "too weak". Personally I'm maining this exotic in Crucible, its makes 1v1 a breeze. There is definitely a learning curve tho.
-
They could've had more synergy with arc weapons in pvp but there's nothing at all. Less reason to use it in pvp. Pve it's fine bc it actually has a other use than just replacement of the dodge with a blink. I think for pvp there should be some sort of stat increase for arc weapons after shifting(i.e. handling and stability)? And maybe a 2.5% dmg buff bc anything higher(i think) 120 hc's that are arc could 2 tap. (although there are no arc 120's)
-
34 RepliesIts not a debuff...its a 10% arc weapon damage buff. While that is active...dodge doesnt recharge. And it is worth it.
-
You hunters are so whiny
-
It's abysmal, but that's just hunter exotics.
-
Sometimes its not about the destination but, the journey Guardian.

1 ReplyI got it, like it, and I’m not even a hunter main...

This is a very hot take my man

1 ReplyThe exotic is fantastic. Bonus arc damage in pve for 10 seconds. The shift is also nice. I pretty much main the helmet.
-
I gave it a bit of playtime yesterday and I would have to say in 6v6 it is outclassed by the sixth coyote because you are getting 2 doges that also slow your enemies but this helmet does shine in 3v3 modes.
