please tell me taniks aint getting up from that beating?!
cause serisouly he was dead after we killed him in rise of iron (im not counting the nightmare version as that technically him more of a physical manifastion of him) so please please tell me in lore he's dead as a -blam!-ing doornail this time and there's no way in hell is he getting back up from this please tell me?!

Having Taniks as a running joke wouldn't even be half bad honestly. But yeah he doesn't need any more time in the spotlight. But having joke encounters like "Taniks the fused" as a Servitor rare encounter later. Or a "Taniks the Taken" somewhere after that. "Taniks the A.I" "Taniks Degenerated, the Hive Worm" "Taniks the Shattered" as a Toland like character. Etc. The list goes on.

The guy has been killed 5 times now Cayde killed him twice before the events of D1 We killed him in House of Wolves We killed him again in Rise of Iron And finally in the the DSC I don’t know, he has a habit of coming back from the brink. I’m not sure anything short of vaporizing him will be enough. And as someone else pointed out, I did notice the eyes glowing in the cutscene, so it is possible he could come back. Either way I’m not mad, Taniks is my second favorite villain. Every time I see him I can’t help but remember Variks’ iconic intro for the strike from House of Wolves. Taniks, has no house.

once we find the Biggest pyramid ship at the end of Season Of Awakening and nuke it with our godroll SIVA infused gjallarhorns it will reach a final stand where it releases the darkness' version of ghosts which will go out and ressurect every raid/strike/dungeon/story boss there is so we get to fight four different undying versions of taniks at once, as well as eramis, skolas, sepiks, siviks, and aksis, just to end up being taunted by the darkness with a ressurrected cayde that kills crow and glint, but taniks-2, fallen exo will arrive to kill dark cayde because we helped mithrax forge him in Season Of The Rising to help house light, then we advance into the pyramid ship to fight The Architects, but the final boss room will have a secret like when you fight the icon of sin in doom but instead of finding john romero's head, you find luke smith raising silver prices, and when you shoot him after collecting nine different buffs, you unlock the raid exclusive Vex Legendoclast, before youre returned to orbit due to an anteater error and are forced to run the entire story again.

5 RepliesIt's possible he could come back, Taniks has a hard time staying down to begin with We see in the cutscene that the fallen around him are still alive, their eyes glow again as the scene transitions so it's possible they repaired him again You'll learn very quickly that the lore community for the most part enjoys it when a boss comes back from the dead. Fan favourites like Nokris, Taniks etc are interesting BECAUSE they can stand up to the player without instantly exciting the story when they die

4 Repliesyeah look he probably will when the darkness use evil ghosts start bringing back a cabal of bad guys to form a super group of annihilation that we then have to form our own super group of notable npcs. who then stand around and tell us how to beat each one but never truly help us fight them, until of course they sacrifice themselves to steal our kill and make us feel something (aka voice actors got too expensive and they need to cut costs). all of this eventually leads to a raid inside the traveler with the end boss being our ghost for some dumb reason. everything is destroyed but then we become the exo strangers time traveling sidekick as we go back in time to change things and they release a new game set in the past centered around the iron lords and instead of fighting siva we get a new siva based subclass! but because of these events the future is altered and we end up playing d1 all over again but it actually rides the line of nostalgia and new stuff that it becomes the game weve been waiting for this whole time making it all worth it. that is of course until the first dlc drops and the real destiny experience kicks in where you sit there hoping for an absolute banger of a dlc to drop but everytime you find yourself liking the game less and less. and then it happens. you decide to quit the game. youre done. no point wasting time on this game. its not as good as it used to be. i hate enhancement cores why do i even grind for them? i never really liked gnawing hunger anyway, i just liked winning. and as you continue listing all the things you dislike about the game cementing your decision bungie releasea a sick ass trailer for the new september dlc and youre back baby!! WOOOO!! another ride on that crazy roller coaster thank you, sir. oh, whats that? deluxe edition? why yes, i do think that i would like that hugging a neon randal the vandal emote. oh? its the pre order bonus you say? well then i only have one thing to say to you sir! abso--blam!-ing-lutely i would like to preorder the deluxe edition! and thus the circle of life is complete.

I kinda liked the small hints dropped in the Beyond Light campaign that Tanniks was coming back. Like Eramis telling that Fallen Exo to prepare the body for the Crypt, and Tanniks showing up in the Kell of Darkness cutscene. [spoiler]Didnt expect him to be the raid boss until I saw the raid gang Moist Charlie Critical rolled with complete the Security encounter. Sucks that I had to leave and stop watching their raid run.[/spoiler] Tanniks is pretty much like Ridley from Metroid at this point.
