If you have not purchased beyond light, you did GOOD.
They sell you an exciting new element, a pretty snowy planet... but they made a new gear system where ALL legendary weapon and armor have an expiration date, and most of the new quests demand you to kill specific enemies with specific weapons and element. They must think asking players to always use guns and elements they dont like to get their rewards is what players need to have fun... Like going to a sushi bar where they serve you a bigmac and expect you to thank them for the surprise. Save your money and don't pay bungie for making this once good game an overcomplicated boredom trap.

Most of Beyond Light is nothing but filler chores to pad out the time. There is around at least 2-4 hours of actual gameplay which is the campaign missions and raid. The campaign was padded to hell with filler with the pre-requisites to do the mission versions of the hunts. The Empire Hunts are also padded with the same pre-requisites that you have to do everytime you just want to do a hunt. Power grinding at this point is also basically just filler content of running the same content over and over again. Then looking at the seasonal content... its padded with filler. Gotta run strikes, crucible or gambit before you can do the 2 minutes of seasonal content. Variks' upgrades are nothing but filler of doing a repetitive task for usually a pretty meagre upgrade though some upgrades are actually useful. Making you sparrow from the Crossing around to all the other zones is shameless padding of the play time. Then add onto that the lack of new content within core playlists and lack of reasons to go to older destinations and play older content then you get the result of a very mediocre to actually weak "expansion". EDIT: Then to add onto this the viable loot pool was incredibly weak for the first week or two. Then Bungie had to do a 180 and throw in a bunch of older loot they made unavailable to obtain but then they also removed any gear that gets sunset this season from the pool for some reason.

25 RepliesIt's a simple equation Don't splash out the cash til you see what the reviews say. So I didn't The reviews say the dlc sucks shit through a smelly sock lol Worth 1/3 of the cost at best. If more people did this, perhaps they'd think twice about shovelling out such shit at a stupid price

I bought the digital deluxe with four seasons included and feel it was well worth the money, I've had a lot of fun with the new content, and I haven't even done the raid yet. "Is it worth it?" is always a personal opinion. Your opinion is yours, not a universal truth.

Yeah, go grind for Legendary gear, that will last 1 or 2 seasons... Buy skins on eververse, for weapons that are no longer in use... BL is a ripoff. Trying to play it, but every new dumb quests hurts. "Get Stasis to save humanity"... From f**king what??? Icecream melting at the tower? Lamest spec ever, and they kinda force you to use it.
