How does contest modifier work?
Attempting worlds first with my clan but I’m confused with the idea of the contest modifier. Let’s say for example my light is 1245 right (this is WITH the artifact of a plus 10), but my real power level is 1235, will contest modifier bring me down to 1215 because of the -20 to power level? Or, will it bring me down to strictly 1230 (meaning -5 instead of -20)? Thank you.

This is the Destiny 1 section. Contest brings you to 20 below recommended power for a particular encounter. So if the first encounter is 1230, you will be 1210. Second encounter 1240, you will be 1220. Highest you can be is 1230 for an encounter that is 1250+.
