R.I.P. Penumbral Blast (Stasis Warlock melee)

This skill has become unplayable in the high content of the game, not only was it slow and with a weak attack range, but now it has become even slower and with a very short range. Penumbral Blast (Stasis Warlock melee) projectile speed reduced by 20%. Penumbral Blast (Stasis Warlock melee) range reduced (was 28m now 16m).

    After playing around with the melee I don't think the range or speed nerf is the issue. The super short freeze duration is a slap across the face. Not only did they make the melee harder to land but now the reward is miniscule. Hunters can at least make use of a slow debuff extension because of the fragment but there isn't an extension to freezing. The freeze is too short for all the requirements to land the thing

  • Imagine calling ability spam.... skill. Try Using a weapon. Like a primary. You’re not supposed to snipe with abilities. 26 meters was midrange. Use a weapon.

    I was doing 1220 nightfall and was able to finish off champions with it ,I completed the kill 10 champions with stasis quest So it’s still usable,they just need to go back on the range nerf

  • I'm having a difficult time using it now. If the enemy is too close I do a standard melee and if they are too far it just poofs. Not happy.

  • The nerf was needed, but I feel it was a bit too much especially for PvE. I feel the ability should have a charge up like Handheld Supernova that allows it to fly further

      I think Bungie should bring it up to 20m or 22m. Not because I think it’s bad in PvP, but because it’s causing problems in PvE. As far as PvP is concerned I think a lot of Warlocks are overreacting. The most effect range to use this was under 16m anyway. Not to mention that you don’t even need to hit the enemy directly for the one hit freeze. It’s still the best melee by far. I hopped on to my friends Warlock just to see what the changes are like and I still got tons of freezes in PvP. It’s not bad, not even close to bad. It just requires you to be a bit more aware of your positioning. Nonetheless for the sake of PvE the range should be buffed.

      • A freezing melee should not have the same range as a handcannon, stop crying guys, 16m is perfectly fine for something that freezes when it touchs anywhere instead of a precision or blunt for like hunter and titan ranged melees

        Even though the range nerf is over the top (freeze duration nerf would have done it by itself) I find it better to be honest easier to follow up with a shottie, nade launcher or fusion blast for the shatter. I do wish the empowered melee still enable at close (normal melee) range though. Im just hoping for more stasis weapons

        • The projectile range was crazy but the decrease is even crazier. Needs to be at least 20-22 meters.

How much more?'' with the comment: ''This topic violated the Code of Conduct, and was met with Ninja Justice''. . after I got a lot of approval and 400+ comments. Ok devs you definitely gambled it away with me. Refund is coming: Just one week after the release of the new title, the manufacturer has broken various promises and regulations. Several contents of the game had to be deactivated at short notice due to bad programming and player exploits. The game was heavily penalized for one character class by a drastic update and is too hard. There are many cheaters in the game and there is no anti-cheat system. Complaints and suggestions for improvements in the manufacturer forum will be deactivated after one day if they reach too high approval.

            • I think the nerf to the subclass justified and is much more balanced now. The melee range nerf is definitely over the top though. Theres nothing wrong with how far it reaches. The problem was how hard it was to avoid due to its speed and massive hit box. They definitely shouldn't have touched the range.
