How does Belmon's Algorithm actually work?

The flavor text for Belmon's Algorithm says:
Incoming Void and aerial damage increased.
I took that to mean the following: - Enemies damaging me have increased damage while they are airborne (which is why those shanks hurt so much in current nightfall). - Enemies damaging me with void damage have increased damage. - My damage to enemies is NOT affected by whether or not I/they are airborne (only incoming damage to me is affected). - My void damage to enemies is also not affected (again, incoming void damage means damage to me). Running the strike, this is exactly how things played out, but a stubborn clanmate known for nitpicking small issues to death claims that Belmon's algorithm works like grounded, where you take more damage while you are airborne. As a refresher, here's the grounded flavor text:
Players take more damage while airborne.
To me, grounded has totally different flavor text and it's self-explanatory but said clanmate says it's synonymous with Belmon's algorithm. Does anybody have an official source to confirm how Belmon's algorithm works?
