Cmon guys this nerf was completely overdone as usual

I mean anyone within 16m is a sitting duck if hit by it. So still low risk high reward. The fact that its ranged at all is a blessing to warlocks

But seriously the warlock melee is still an instant win button against anyone inside 16m. A frozen target is a dead target. The only other melees that are instant win buttons are the hunter weighted knife that takes serious skill requiring a headshot, and the titan shoulder charge that has a 5m range. Don't complain about a 16m win button. 1.35s freeze is enough time for you to kill a guardian twice over. Maybe they could change the melee to activate every time regardless of range like the warlock celestial fire.

5 RepliesI don’t agree with the melee range nerf but you’re acting like it was nerfed to be 1m longer than normal melee range. Base melee range is around 5.5m for Warlocks I believe it is 6.5s (or maybe subtract both ranges by 1, can’t exactly remember). Penumbral blast has about 16m. Most Warlocks, were using the melee within that 16m already since it was just a lot easier to guarantee a freezer that way. So no, the range has not been nerfed anywhere near hard enough to consistently cause a situation where you will need to worry about whether you’re too close or too far to use your melee. I still disagree with this specific change. Since the problem with the melee was the instant freeze and whole long it kept you there. Distance of the melee was never an issue nor was the speed tbh since most used the melee with in a relatively close range.

As a hunter main, i think the range nerf is ridiculous, especially after watching the video clip another user posted here. I’ve been playing my warlock this past week a lot, and really enjoy the melee. I haven’t been able to play since the nerf as my internet is currently down, but I am not okay with the new range for penumbral blast.

You either not release something in this state, or you let people play for what they paid for, having fun. Hyping Stasis like its the total game changer, releasing it and in that short window with that low amount of data usage information making big nerfs is not smart.

Agree with you but not on such an extreme scale. It’s not that hard to work around the range nerf(opinion of a warlock main)

2 RepliesYou guys are all crazy the melee isn't terrible or anything. It still freezes and kills things. Everyone's acting like it's useless or something. I still wreck people in crucible. I still dominate ads and other guardians in gambit. I still finish strikes in under 3 minutes. If you guys can't handle the nerf then that just means you're bad at the game sorry to say it.
