Is it just me or is the lighting weird? I’m on a Ps4 Pro with a Samsung Qled TV on HDR but when running Nessus, EDZ and even Europa (braytech for instance) there is a weird glow on the weapons, basically everywhere. Braytech is a weird red glow all around, I don’t know, it just feels off. As if it’s or way too light and then way too dark. Hard too explain but perhaps I’m not the only one?
Are there more people having this?

Same issues with Xbox One X and a LG OLED. Hopefully they fix this since they are touting the new improvements on next gen consoles...wont look good if HDR is f*d up to begin with.
-
Yes, huge issue. Confirming for PS5 as well. Terrible.
-
1 ReplyYeah I experience a similar issue on Xbox Series X, 4K and HDR. Looks like some OP filter gets applied to it. Just a minor bug regarding HDR I guess.
-
1 ReplyI always get a kick when my screen is blinded from snow, sparrow a-blowin, all while I'm 6 rooms into a building.
-
I'm playing on an old plasma TV (no hdr) and things just look way too dark and hard too see at times + plus alot of colours look oversaturated. I can turn brightness up, but all that does is make my screen look washed out and blinds me whenever I drop down on Europa from staring at the snow. A good example to see the saturation is to jump into gambit and wait to invaded. The red tint that covers my screen makes it feel like someone threw ketchup in my eyes.

2 RepliesWTF have they done to Nessus and EDZ. I don't have HDR on my monitor. Lighting effects, over saturation on the red trees, any tunnel or underground area is way too bright and washed out. It is terrible. The first time i saw Nessus i was blown away by its astounding art design and environments, i would show it off to people who didn't play Destiny. but now it is ugly. Please change it back.

Yeah I have the same issue since BL dropped the color on Nessus is way off elsewhere it’s good with the exception of Gambit color is kind of muddy ,hazed over not vivid it was not like that before BL and I haven’t touched my settings.

Just tweeted the link to this topic to cozmo, dmg04 and bungiehelp to see if it’s beeing noticed.

2 RepliesTurn off hdr.
-
1 Replysome on PC with HDR TV. Worked just fine before the expansion, now it is totally broken an cannot be fixed by changing settings. In the end I decided to turn off HDR completely :(
-
Your not alone. I see it on Xbox One X with my TCL 4K HDR 10 bit TV. I've seen it on dark Floors in Lost Sectors , Buildings or Tunnels a lot on Nessus , Europa and EDZ. I suspect that in their attempt to Fix the Crushed Blacks and non functional Black Sliders which has plagued the game for 8+ months, they broke something else.

Edited by E-Hoss: 11/18/2020 3:00:16 AMBungie hasn't been able to get black in HDR to work properly since it was available. It's a real bummer. This game looks amazing and it would look even better if they could get it right.

Edited by xLEFx777x: 11/18/2020 9:01:57 AMDude, Nessus is f*cked. Everything that should be black is blue with HDR. That's REALLY annoying. It's good to know that I'm not alone. I thought I was going crazy. Nessus lightning is so broken that even when you play gambit, if it's gonna be on that planet, the intro cutscene with the drifter is also having heavy blue hues all around. I paid attention and my next match was on Earth, and the blue tint was gone from the cutscene. Bungie need to see this ASAP.

Destiny doesn't really do hdr very well. Try turning it off and it should fix the problem.
-
1 ReplyMost likely related to the new Lighting changes in Beyond Light.
-
It's because they removed the Leviathan from the skybox. I'm guessing no one could be bothered readjusting the lighting to suit that.
-
I was having an issue on Nessus stuff as well. Anytime I was there it just didn't look right and I thought my new TV was broken. Hopefully Bungie can fix some of this when the 4K60 patch comes out in December--not that I'll still be here playing this glorified chore simulator, but still.
-
Yea, they’ve been revamping the lighting since beyond light came out, all the old planets are lit up horribly still. December 10th that should change though. Gambit is the same way.
-
5 RepliesYes... glad I just see this. Since the update the graphics are absolutely horrible on xbox x . Anywhere black is blotchy and shines red.
-
Streamers have commented on it since Beyond light dropped. Colors have definitely changed alot. It isnt our TVs or monitors
-
2 RepliesI haven't found it to be too bad so far, but it makes the Fanatic look awesome in the Fanatic Strike.
-
Thank god, I thought it was my settings and monitor.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
Yeah, the colour/saturation levels are way off for me since Beyond Light dropped. I followed advice from someone else and tried setting both HDR sliders to halfway and it did improve it. However, for me, it’s better with HDR off. -
I keep getting real hazy greens and reds. Everywhere else is normal though.
-
1 ReplyYES me and brother both have noticed it. looks like someone farted oil everywhere.

Iceman You make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
