I quite like lizard/snakemen in a number of titles.

I like to play aliens and robots. But when it comes to “beast races” not so much. I like them in games but not to play as. I tend to lean towards dark elves.

1 ReplyCurrently playing a tabaxi warlock in a D&D campaign and I'm having a great time. I love beast races cuz I like to be, in games, what I'm not like in real life.
-
5 RepliesDepends on the racial bonus. Or whether I'm playing a Druid.

they’re neat.

2 RepliesI never understood how female Argonians had boobs... reptiles don't nurse.
-
1 ReplyI'm all for more avian and/or insectoid races.
-
3 RepliesI don't usually play them because I don't dig the aesthetic, but I still think they're neat. The Khajiit from Elder Scrolls have really interesting lore.

I always play as argonians, I like look

Edited by Owenthlegoking: 11/17/2020 9:26:45 PMI personally enjoy like Android aliens like general grievous and wat tambor and the vex and engi and most others you could think of

2 RepliesEdited by Cultmeister: 11/17/2020 9:38:38 AMDepends on the beast. Unless they specifically suit my playstyle (like argoinian water breathing or Kajhit night vision) then I tend to stay away as the aesthetic isn’t my thing either. I’m more of an elf guy. The chocobo races in FFX were absolutely brutal.
-
Not against them, I just prefer automations because robots are cool. A robot lizard man would be pretty dope tho

Depends on the game I suppose. I always liked the alien races in Star Wars, Halo, and Zelda which are derived from Earthbound creatures. They add to the fantasy aspect of the games (and movies). The only off putting aspects to me depend would depend on what they are and how they are used I guess.

Depends on the game and how they look. With Elder Scrolls games I've done at least one run with a Khajiit starting from Morrowind. The idea is that each Khajiit is the descendant of a previous hero leading up to Skyrim's crazy Khajiit.
https://i.imgur.com/da2h2Kl.png
An alternative I've gone for is the Lykaios race. For Fallout 4 I'm currently just trying to decide between Ikaros which are androids or Amelias which are android jackals.

Beast folk are usually pretty neat. A lot cooler than boring old humans, but I usually prefer other sorts of magical races, like elves, faeries, and vampires*. Though, there is one exception; I love fish people! Fish people are always super awesome! We need more playable fish people in games!
*whether vampires are considered a race, or a curse varies
Now that's a name I haven't seen on here in a while.
