To all corners of the system...
I've emptied the armories on the fringe. Sent Corsair warship fleets. Deployed Harbingers. And yet... the Black Fleet persists. I know what it's taken from you.
Petra... I've been away for too long, and for that, I apologize. Your compassion and leadership have been a boon to me - and our people. This all started with the Dreaming City. I shall return to finish it.
[sighs] Savathun will be waiting.
<Welcome to the first message from Mara Sov in... quite some time. What's it been, over a year now? I don't know if anyone recalls, you all probably do, but I didn't really enjoy the fact that Mara seemingly abandoned her people with her not telling us what she was to do. Of course, we had our theories. Some said that she took the fight to Savathun, and others said she took to fight the Pyramids.
I should've seen the latter coming. The Nine's cryptic message during Week 3 of the Invitations, Eris's short journeys before finding the Lunar Pyramid. I should've known that the Queen of the Reef would be so bold...
... and so incredibly stupid.
What did she think would happen? She would fire a Harbinger or three at a Pyramid and watch it obliterated into dust? God forbid she tried that shit on the Mothership, where Darkness is at its strongest. And now she comes crawling back. In a way, the Nine were right, they DID "annihilate" her. Her soul is crushed due to the continuing march of the Pyramid Armada.
She has to pull some serious shit out to beat Savathun before I even begin to respect her again. She abandoned her people to fight a futile war when even WE haven't figured a way to beat them. -blam!-, we're the only ones outside of the Traveler who stand a chance so far.
So let her crawl back to the Dreaming City, but don't think for one moment that I will spare her any grievances.>

I've never liked Mara Sov so i couldn't care less about her. She's always seem to me like an arrogant character that thinks she's more then she actually is.

Edited by Natdeguerre: 11/18/2020 4:23:45 AMLol. As opposed to whom? Our “heroic” guardian taking on every threat with small arms fire an a bunch of Jedi voodoo hahaha.... C’mon the only thing we maybe have over her is plot armor, that’s it. I mean it’s a fairytale shoehorned to fit a first person shooter after all. We’re a hammer and every possible problem in the universe is a fricken nail. They made us shoot collectibles in warmind for crying out loud.

Perhaps this defeat will put some humility in the pompous girl.
-
I have a feeling she might sacrifice herself for real this time in the coming years.
-
Either it's part of an elaborate plan, or the writing team wrote themselves in a corner and are basically pretending the mara they created doesn't exist.

My armada would win

2 RepliesGuess that time she threatened to kill me and my ghost was all talk. She make all the fancy light shoes and threats that she wants, but she better remember that us guardian have slain gods, brought ruin to entire civilizations because they messed with us, and now we can control literal darkness. What can she do? Really?
-
Welp ...... Mara maybe i dunno work with humanity its not an awoken war its a solar system war everyone in it is going to die surprised she hasn’t called shaxx over to help
-
2 RepliesYou’d think she’d have learned after Saturn. But nope. Safe to say I wonder how much this Era of Darkness is going to take from us. First Sagira. Possibly Osiris next. Telesto ornament “Long Live the Queen” could potentially suggest Mara as well. Who knows.

This is why I prefer Petra.

She may be an idiot, but she's a thicc idiot...
As someone who only played D2 and only played forsaken after she left her throne world, I don't get the obsession with the character.
-
1 ReplyShe's hot tho
-
And you already know the Awoken will welcome her back like some kind of savior.

Me as well. I’ve been reading the Dark Future and she ain’t getting shit respect from me.
