I'm one of the Unfortunate/stupid people who got mistakenly banned. It's been 3 weeks of waiting for a follow-up and I need help getting my account back

Hey guys, I'm a D2 PVE main who enjoys crucible with friends once in a while. Here are my stats: https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/steam/4611686018467651468/overview It's 1550 hours of PVE vs 220 hours of PVP. (3k hours reported from D2 checklist) And it's the perfect start for people who doubt that I cheat because all my stats are there for all to see. I've been a part of this group of friends who game together since the release of destiny 2. It's an amazing community, and it's honestly the main driving force in why I play destiny and why I want my account back so badly. It was Oct 20th, and I was had gotten heavily back into destiny due to a mountain biking injury at the end of September - broken clavicle, 2 broken ribs, and a pneumothorax. I had also started to play No Man's sky after their Origins update. I usually like to build bases in such games just purely out of creative energy, rather than build according to resources, so i had a cheathappens trainer that I was using at the time. I also wanted to mention that I had been taking my pain medication, which made me prone to mistakes. Well, I'm sure you've all guessed it by now. I accidentally had the trainer running while in the tower, and after hitting f1 (open inventory) I heard the sound "trainer activated", and immediately shut down the trainer. I then assumed all was fine and went an played a game of crucible with friends. After that match, I was permanently banned from destiny 2. I've done my legwork, I sent everything to Bungie and based on the information I sent, they decided to take a look at my appeal case (Case ID: 47842). I have since even followed up with a small petition or affidavit from the people I play with. Tweeted Bungie help, and also included my hospital discharge papers and other documents to them. which I won't share here because it has personal information from both me and my clanmates. It's been 24 days since my ban, I've tried being patient and giving them the benefit of doubt and assumed they were busy with the new expansion launch, but I've been really feeling like I'm missing out as everyone I know is playing the new expansion. I would buy the game over again, but honestly, it really bugs me that my first mistake was punished so harshly, and I don't feel like buying shadowkeep/forsaken/beyond light and losing all my progress. I've already spent that money, and spent even more on silver throughout the years--i've spent 500 Canadian dollars on this account. But the most important thing is the time I've spent on this account. I have multiple titles, tons and tons of triumph points, and countless weapons that are now impossible to get. So I'm here asking for help to maybe bring some attention to me or others who may be stuck in a hard place. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Makka edit: If I could pay bungie the amount for all expansions and d2 over again, i would. I just want to have all my stuff back. That account meant something to me.

  • Sadly you had a program opened at the same time as d2. Now it doesn't matter what it is, if it's a cheat engine, trainer or a programing tool for work ect. The game detects that and immediately acts on it. Now bungie have a 0 tolerance policy when it comes to cheating so... If you have sent a appeal form to them and they don't respond within a few working DAYS. Key word. Days, because that's how long it takes normally. Plus the majority of them are working from home. So be patient and see. Now I have to comment on something you replied to a other person. What's the difference between cheating in single player games and online only games. There's a massive difference. Single player games allow you to. Because as you have also said, they had inbuilt cheats in them. Online games have other players and cheating gives you a unfair advantage over them. That's not good. In fact it's pathetic to cheat in multiplayer and online only games. Sadly you are at the mercy of bungo and sadly your stats and intentions mean didely squat. You made a mistake due to pain medication, must be strong enough to block common knowledge by your point with hours played. Bungie is either going to see your situation and unban you. Or more than likely they'll keep you perma banned. Its happened before and it'll probably happen again.

  • The amount of braindamage from this community to attack you over a mistake after a severe injury, as if you did any god damn harm with this, and then insulting you over it on a singleplayer game too. Some people just suck so bad at games that they got to attack others, ableism at its finest. Sorry this happebed to ya.

The issue here isn't whether or not you intended to cheat. Bungie policy is to ban if any cheat software is detected. Doesn't matter if it is designed FOR Destiny or not. You agreed to this policy when you agreed to their terms of service. By the letter of that contract (and agreeing to the terms of service IS a contract,) they are well within their rights to ban you for violating that contract. What you are arguing about is the spirit of that contract. You didn't mean to break the contract. You just had the necessary elements in place to do so, and didn't remember to hide them/shut them off, due to pain meds. Your argument is akin to a man who runs someone over with his car while on strong pain meds, arguing that because he didn't mean to do it, it's not a crime. (Obviously vehicular manslaughter isn't on the same level as cheating at a video game, so don't try to argue it.) The intentions are moot at this point. He chose to drive while under the influence of medication, just as you chose to play while under the influence of medication. He made a bad choice because he wasn't fully coherent, you made a bad choice because you weren't fully coherent. What happened happened. Tl;dr: You goofed, your ban WASN'T a mistake, and Bungo owes you nothing.

  • Unfortunately, you were not banned by “mistake”. You were rightfully banned. Bungie has been more than clear that if you have cheat programs running at the game detects it, you will be banned. Whether intentional, or not, the ban was not applied in error.

    • If bungie or anyone else has evidence of me cheating, i'd invite them to post it. I hate cheaters as much as the rest of you.
