Button mapping issue PS4 remote play for Beyond Light
When I opened up the game using remote play to play beyond light my controls were messed up and I couldn't remap them to go to the default settings. I was using remote play before the patch and it was working fine. Looked online and it seems like people are having a issue with using remote play on the PS4. Dont got a TV a the moment so I was using a labtop. Guess I'm waiting till it gets fixed bummer.

Come on Bungie. It's been over a month. Some of us can't play the game without remote play, like me. I'm about to ask for a refund. I can't play the game like this!

Right now the game is absolutely unplayable via Remote Play... Wake up Bungo!!!

2 RepliesEureka! I had an epiphany and yes, it hurt. I know what's happening now and why our Remote Play for PC, Android and iOS are borked. Anyone who used Remote Play with their PS Vita should realize the controls match the Vita's. The PS Vita lacks the very buttons that no longer work in Remote Play: L2, L3, R2, and R3 With this in mind I did the following: Customize the button layout in D2:BL as follows: Grenade - Virtual Button 1 (Left side of the DS4 touchpad) Melee - Virtual Button 2 (Right side of the DS4 touchpad) Super - Virtual Button 1 + Virtual Button 2 Already configured: Sprint - it's already set, we just didn't realize it. This one annoys because unlike the Vita, our Left stick is not positioned underneath the D-Pad Down. Try it out, press and hold D-Pad Down+Left Stick and you'll Sprint (your fingers won't enjoy this but it works) Bring up Director or the 'Summon my Scooter' Tap the center of the DS4 touchpad brings up the menu to go to orbit, summon your mighty steed, etc Tap+Hold Center of DS4 touchpad brings up the Director (don't need to actually push the touchpad down, just tap as if it's a touchscreen which is how the Vita was setup, utilizing it's touchscreen). That's the issue here. For some reason they setup the Remote Play for PC, Android and iOS with the PS Vita controls. Hopefully they can fix this back to normal PS4 controls. The other option requires you to have a PS Vita. I can confirm the Vita works fine when remoting the PS4 because of the settings I mentioned that are already pre-configured for the Vita. Bungie, please revert the default settings for Remote Play to PS4 not PS Vita! - Nataswon

I am also having this issue and sometimes this is the only way I can play! I have noticed that if you are on a mobile device (Galaxy note 9 for myself) there is an option to use a cursor with the touch pad on the PS4 controller. If you use that cursor and click the imaginary touch pad on your device(center top portion of the screen) it will trigger a melee or grenade depending on which side of the touchpad you click with the cursor(Left side Grenade, Right side melee). Even though this is not the most ideal set up and is quite annoying, you can still activate these abilities. I have yet to figure out how to activate your super! The sprint is also non existent, (L3 no workie). Please Help Bungie!!! We want to play Beyond Light!!!

There aren't any issues with other games, and as previously mentioned by others, this worked completely fine before the Beyond Light update. I've tried changing the layout to Custom and mapping all buttons correctly, but doesn't have any effect on the layout

Can also confirm. Figured I'd toss in a comment to gain traction. Tried on both iOS and macOS. Also when trying to use custom mapping, that doesn't do the trick either even though manual mapping definitely recognizes the L2/R2 L3/R3 presses.

1 ReplyI’m having the same problem. Sucks! I tried to program to default but it would not work. It worked great prior to the Beyond Light update.
