So apparently you can pay 2000 argentum (20€) to get a second character from 750 power to 1000. I was wondering what was the point of it out of curiosity. It took me only 1 or 2 hour to get my second character to more than 1000 as weapons can be exchanged through the chest. Are some people doing that?

It’s a way for people to quickly bypass the additional time going through the process to level a new character. Yes, some people do go this route instead of playing through to level up.
-
Why would you do that when all characters will get boosted to 1050 regardless?

I think it’s just to take advantage of the people who don’t know just how easy it is to get a second or third character to 1000. Many players wouldn’t think to toss some guns in the vault for that initial boost or about the passive bump up from the artifact. It’s the kind of thing where in other games it makes sense especially for people who work more than they can play, and I feel those people are used to the option

Bungie is going to be raising all gear to 1050 power next season, so what’s the point in wasting money over it?
