So I recently read the changes coming next season to the hunter dodge. I’m not a fan of the way bungie quietly delivered this news but that’s a separate topic.
What I’m more concerned about is why hunters are the only class receiving a change before going into beyond light. Yes I’m sure it has to do with the new stasis subclass or maybe even mask of bakris, but here’s the thing; the dodge where it is now in terms of cooldown isn’t really a problem. I hear more people complain about top tree dawn than hunters and their dodge. My biggest concern however is how this change will devalue existing subclass perks such as the invis and deadly reach. They’ve changed the playing field for the upcoming new things but I think the harm done to the old stuff will be far more substantial. Can any Bungie employee chime in here with something to ease my concerns? Thank you in advanced

It's a couple of seconds. Hunter dodge on stasis can slow opponents and make them less accurate. It's going to be op as all hell anyway

6 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 11/6/2020 5:00:50 AMBecause Dodging wasn't just being used to dodge. It was used for healing, invisibility, reducing melee/grenade cooldowns, and a bunch of other functions. There were merits to just throwing out dodges for the benefits even when you didn't need to evade anything. This is an overall healthy nerf for the game. Hunters are still powerful in every single mode. You just have to be a little more careful where you spend your dodge. You're gonna be fine.

Hunter's Dodge top tree nightstalker with Wormhusk. Dodge does: -Reloads your gun -Breaks aim assist and tracking grenades -Goes invisible -Removes you off radar -Heals you -3rd person camera peek Icarus Dash is just a dash and doesn't break aim assist.

2 RepliesI'm glad Warlock and Titan mains can band together during a time where Hunter mains wont shut up

14 RepliesLmfao don’t warlocks get a double dodge with a 5 second cool down?
-
7 RepliesThere’s an exotic that changes dodge to teleport/invis. The nerf is probably just to balance pvp. Having this every 9 seconds would be a bit much. I main a hunter and I’m fine with this change.

1 ReplyThey nerfed Titan barricade last time. Hopefully dawn blade will get tuned next.

it's about -blam!-ing time now Bungie's on the right path and now I think I'll start playing again 👏👏👏

It's a half assed poor lazy attempt at balancing by Bungie.

2 RepliesEdited by Kiro - 13: 11/6/2020 1:33:47 AMIts a complex issue. Infinite invisibility while designing content has to be taken into account. In PvP it is indeed to much when paired with wormhusk crown and maybe be to strong with the new shift exotic. This being said its not dodge's cool down being to low, its the exotics paired with them that add to much utility to dodge. This change is a perfect example of how stretched the company is. The proper fix would have been fine tuning/adjusting the exotics and not dodge its self. This however would require far more time and man power which Bungie has been transparent enough to let of know they are at current time lacking this. Im just not sure if its lazyness on Bungie's end or a total lack of recources that caused this change. As dodge cool down is not an issue its the exotics that are paired with them that are. What worries me most is how it was worded, 4 second at tier 4. Now we can translate this into dodge going to 13 second at 100mobility. OR and this is my concern, is tier 4 is where diminished value returns kick in and dodge may become a 16 second cool down at 100 mobility. also as a side note with the values across the board changing it makes obtaining 100 mobility as a hunter in pvp that much more pivotal and thoes not at this range will be hit hardest. if they wanted to nerf dodge the proper route then would have been addressing its tier 7-10 values, while leaveing tier 1-6 unchanged.

2 RepliesAs a hunter main this isn't that big of a deal. Honestly it'll just encourage me to utilize the perpetuation mod.

LoL you hear more complaints about TTD because most of them are hunters who don’t like the taste of their own medicine. And it was well deserved. It’s the best class ability BY FAR in D2 while currently having the shortest cool down. It’s a nerf that’s 2 years overdue...
-
6 RepliesGood. Hunters need to stop getting their -blam!-ing hands held 24/7. This needs to be the tip of the iceberg.
-
2 RepliesIcarus Dash is literally relegated exclusively to top tree Dawnblade. Hunter dodge is on every subclass.
-
3 RepliesWith max mobility you can go invisible every 9 seconds with graviton forfiet and bottom tree you literally have infinte invis and other classes don't need nerfs. You can stop complaining they aren't changing back and more people are happy about it than not

1 ReplyWorm husk was very annoying not disappointed by the nerf...
-
It's only 4 seconds

This patchnote was just a sneak peak. Wait till the full patchnote on Nov 9th...

23 RepliesHunters get upset asf when nerfed Warlocks just go an accept it and titans just keep eating crayons
-
to be honest most the time i forget i have it, in pvp i only really use it when i need a reload or iv got 2 v 1 and i usually die anyway.
-
Wasn’t a hard enough nerf tbh but I’m happy they finally did something to it.
-
3 RepliesI play hunter and warlock pretty equally, but I was really counting on a top dawn nerf. Will be pretty disappointed if that subclass stays such a crutch for another year.
-
If it's the 4 seconds across the board - regardless of the mobility tier, then although it's an inconvenience, its still manageable. It's potentially having to re-work the armour "synergy", more than anything for me.

Good.
