Will we have a way to customize our existing guardians' appearance in Beyond Light without deleting and remaking them?
Despite what Bungie has said, there's been nothing said about whether players will be able to do this yet. Can we get some clarification that, since Bungie will be changing how our characters look, we will be able to customize our existing characters to make use of the new customization options?
Please, Bungie. Just be clear about it.

8 Replies*transfer all armor and weapons to vault, delete character, redesign character, tutorial, transfer all armor and guns mid tutorial. Starting quests for an hour or so. Done*

I’m concerned cause they said our current characters could change bc of the updates to the character creator. Honestly I love my titan and I don’t want him to change

Exos should be customized by going into a chop shop like the GTA series.

3 RepliesPosting again on this thread because I read this: “ Character Creation Changed selection from "Male" & "Female" to "Masculine" & "Feminine." Guardian head and hair models have been replaced with improved versions. Several color swatches have been changed to better represent the applied color. Player’s previous head selections are still used.” That last part: “Player’s previous head selections are still used.” That pretty much means no re-selecting our facial appearance.

IIRC, in a TWAB, after it talked about updates to the appearance system, it said something like: “What to expect- your characters may look a little different” So I’m guessing that they aren’t going to allow character appearance to be changed, but that’s only a guess because I feel like if that was coming, they would have said so since it would be a positive thing for the game and the players and they would want o leverage that.

We're now at a point in the timeline that would have been originally slated for Destiny 3 and it's still not here. Whenever it's brought up, Bungie never acknowledges it. It's safe to assume that they don't care and will not implement this highly-requested feature. Since it's a nice QoL and customization update that players would like to see, expect it to never arrive. But at least we got that pesky "binary genders" thing taken care of, right?

I thought that was odd as well. This has been one of the most requested features since D1 and yet no word on character editor. Sure they update everything to look cool but you cant change your hair style kind of weird. If only bungie had spent the time they used reworking the title system to do something that players actually requested like a character editor.

Honestly I hate to say this but I would pay to be able to redo my character without having to restart in many other mmos/ games like this they have the ability to change basic character appearance like hair and facial/features. The fact that it’s not already in this game is kinda just odd they could make such easy money off of cosmetic chumps like me lol.

People have been asking for this since Destiny 1, I doubt Bungie could give enough of a damn to even consider it considering how long they have ignored people's requests for the feature.

I seriously doubt it. Bungie could have sold rebuild kits a long time ago and didn't, there must be something in the coding that prevents character change. I don't see Bungie passing on easy money, just my opinion.

1 ReplyI love how Bungie can take the time to update our gender preferences but can’t seem to provide the features necessary to recustomize our new genderless Guardians. So from here on forth I don’t ever want to hear another excuse from anyone in this community trying to explain to me any reason as to why Bungie [b]can’t[/b] allow us to recreate our characters. While they’re at it, how about giving us some more options, it’s been a few years...

13 RepliesWell good news is deleting your character does nothing in terms of gameplay since levels were removed. So you can put all your stuff in the vault, nuke the toon, recreate and collect all your gear and immediately equip it.

2 Repliesquestion, do you reset progress to class triumphs if you delete your character? for example you got a triumph with hunter grenade kills does that reset when you delete character?
