So we got stasis, I wonder what other cool darkness elements there are
It would also be sweet if we could get like a true light and true dark subclasses. True Light being like all white and vice versa for true dark
Any lore indications or good guesses?

6 RepliesI think there's a correlation of color: Beyond Light: Blue(stasis/ice) Witch queen: Green(Hive/Poison) Light Fall: Black(Blight/Darkness/Taken)

1 ReplyI would hope for a acidic subclass next and then after that maybe one where you could have like the ability to make stuff taken and they would like fight for you and stuff

1 ReplyDarkness subtracts from things rather than adding to as Light does. Stasis is the removal or absence of warmth, chemical and atomic reactions which in turn generate heat are broughr down to a state of heat death. So the theoretical other two elements would be some inverse of what we have with light. Solar is that chemical and atomic heat burning stronger while Stasis is the lack of it. Im not sure what an anti arc or anti void would be or do Ill pass this to those knowledgeable about physics.

1 ReplyI would like to see a heavily tech/gadget/munitions influenced type of subclass added. Like warmachine but, with space magic elements mixed in.

By Bungos logic , impossible to predict i coul be cotton based or it can by wind based :D

i think bungie hinted at other dark subclasses in the vidoc. if you see the character menu, when he hovers over your subclass it says switch to darkness subclasses. Also they teased other elements with armor exotics. Icefall gauntlet for titan - cover in STASIS energy warlock - melee with POISON gauntlets so i believe poison / decay are next. 1 new dark subclass for witch queen and 1 more for light fall make sense

1 ReplyWe are basically turning into Eevee 😆

1 ReplySolar, Arc, Void, Stasis Long ago the 4 races lived in harmony, but everything changed when the darkness attacked. Only the Ava-errmm uhhh I mean Guardian can master all 4 elements, but when we needed them most, they vanished....

I’d love to see dark matter or anti matter. Anti matter would be hard to control, physics wise though.
-
As a random guess, I’d say... Paint and Campaign (random guess generated at the following site: https://randomwordgenerator.com ) As a slightly LESS random guess, I’d say Decay (green) and Rage (deep red). (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

I've been wondering about the same thing, and I'm thinking maybe a sound based subclass (i.e. sonic, or harmonic) weve seen the hive use sound as a weapon before so it would be that far fetched he'd and could be cool! I'm imagining sonic boom movement abilities, disorienting high pitched abilities, and low acoustic blasts that push targets Another possibility is some kind of poison/decay/entropy type class. For this I'm imagining a lot of damage over time (kind of like thorn) and weakening effects that function like oppressive darkness or overload effects.
-
Possible corruption/poison, similar to that one artifact in d1 were you slap an enemy to turn them into an ally for a short time
-
Well I think it’s likely we’ll get some kind of class based on minerals. And maybe one based on necromancy and give magic.
-
probably something along the lines of hive magic, blights, thorn, and malfeasance

Edited by Achilles Flame: 11/6/2020 11:04:17 PMI've been saying for years that a ice subclass would make the most since as a forth sub-class since they already had the frame work done for it with the Dawning event snow balls and the chill effect that they gave. And look bam! Stasis is now a thing. If I were to venture a guess for another "Darkness" sub-class I would say there is something again that is already in the game, but we don't really notice it all that much. It's the Hive "Soul Fire" that green fire the Hive use. In my opinion it wouldn't act like fire or the "solar" sub-class but more like a poison and infect to do damage over time. IDK that's something I've been thinking.

2 RepliesStasis is suppose to be the opposite of solar it seems. By that logic I believe the opposite of arc (basically plasma) would be essentially decay. A collection of positrons instead of elections. And as void is essentially dark energy, the opposite of that could theoretically be gravity. Both of which sounds hype af.
-
Solar/stasis are accelerating or decelerating entropy. Arc is drawing on the electromagnetic balance of atoms themselves. Void is pulling exotic matter and raw will to expose our reality to something so foreign, the disparity burns. I wonder if we could get a corrosive subclass based on fluid dynamics. Like a system that is inspired by wind and water never stopping as they wear things away.

Decay

2 RepliesI wanna see a -blam!-in PLANT subclass. That's be sick.
-
For other elements to be added to darkness, they need to fit the theme as well as be unique. They also need to have a practicality. Fire, void and electricity are used by the light so there would be no point making something similar, e.g. ash or radiation. So think of elements that haven't been used like wind or stone and try to think how they fit with the theme of dark. The new Warlock exotic could hint towards a potential poison sub class.

6 RepliesIt’s not really dark powers. It’s basically the frost or ice element subclass that has been asked for but instead of just saying it’s a frost powers they will say it’s dark powers. Think about it. It’s called stasis powers between all three classes. What does it do. Freezes players or enemies in place or what have you. Void abilities are considered darker than what ever that is. So not dark powers.

3 RepliesA Hive Magic class wouldn't be out of the question, likely taught to us by Eris. She clearly has some tricks up her sleeve that we don't fully know about, like her ability to teleport our guardians without any need for transmat.
-
From what I've heard from a very trustable person; we going to get stasis as the full darkness subclass. After we complete the main campaign, I ain't saying anything about that, we get a quest; go with the Traveler or the Darkness? Like the Gambit-trash-allegiance-quest.
-
I think next year we’ll get some hive magic and taken subclasses. And then in Lightfall we will get full on Darkness subclasses
