Sniper Nerf? Ridiculous, Crush Shotguns

  • Snipers don't require skill. Aim for the chest, wait to get shot, pull the trigger and let aim assist, flinch, and bullet magnetism turn what should be a punishment for you into a headshot instead. Shotguns don't require skill. Slide, aim, fire, profit. Burn them both. Completely remove all aim assist and bullet magnetism from snipers, increase the flinch on them, and make them projectile instead of hitscan. THAT will make them a skill-based weapon. Nerf the hell out of shotgun range, increase base damage, remove crit damage entirely from them, and increase the spread so you ACTUALLY have to barrel stuff them if you want a 1hko with a shotgun. And to help balance them both? Remove Scavenger mods, remove the Spawn-In Special ammo (the two bullets you get when you first spawn in, and every time you respawn), limit drops to 1 special bullet per PRIMARY kill, then set it so Special kills don't drop Special ammo. That way you actually have to EARN special, snipers aren't so brainlessly easy, shotguns are much easier to outspace and counter, and it'll solve the issue of everyone running around with infinite Special ammo and relying on crutch Specials all the time.

    • Special weapons as a whole don’t require a whole lot of skill, ESPECIALLY snipers since all you have to do is just have decent aim,bait your teammates, and let the shitty flinch mechanics in this game do all the work for you. Why do you think that snipers dominate every 3v3 playlist and teams are limited to only 1 sniper per team in scrims? It’s because they’re oppressive as shit in the hands of good players.

      • As someone with 16,000 shotgun kills and almost 20k sniper kills and almost an 80% headshot accuracy, shotgunning is way harder. The skillgap is significantly more present with shotguns, since you need good awareness and movement, while sniping is just pure aim in a game with hitboxes the size of a truck.

They're oppressive enough to completely dictate most Trials maps, and somewhat force the abundance of 3 peeking, as that's the only true counter. These are some of the weakest shotguns in the context of FPS. Thhey just make the gameplay fun, unlike snipers, which slow the game to a CRAWL due to them being uncounterable (the definition of overpowered). Shotguns are REALLY easily countered by simply avoiding a 9 meter engagement, I don't get that luxury against a sniper. Flinch sucks on any gun, but how it currently is makes sense on primaries. The same system doesn't make sense on snipers, since you can be flinched back on target. Pretty big issue on a OHK weapon, not an issue on something that kills you in longer than half a second. Snipers are by definition overpowered, since they're uncounterable in any head-on engagement except with another sniper. Shotguns are not, since they're piss poor range gives almost every weapon in the game the ability to out-range you.             • Snipers are the lowest skill lowest risk specials in the game... they absolutely need to be nerfed, less aim assist, smaller hitboxes and a fix to flinch
