No vendor refresh is pathetic for a 40 dollar expansion
Bungie continues to strip down all of the features of this game. Vendor refreshes were a standard for EVERY expansion in the past and it would take bungie to give their minimal effort to make it happen. The house of wolves, a 20 dollar expansion in d1, had a vendor refresh with new weapons and armor. New things to chase. D2 doesn't understand this. There is no gear that I want or need because all of the activities are so mind-numbingly easy.
Theyre too focused on their free to play model that the veteran players suffer because of it. How are we in year 4 of destiny 2 without a way to acquire consistent strike specific loot? How hard is it to bring back skeleton keys? Why is the game filled with trash weapons and armor? The sole reason most people play is to get loot. But they keep recycling the same gear season after season. Why dont they at least add the weapon models and perks from d1 to add some much needed variety? All I can think of is laziness and greed. Theres no excuse for not adding new weapons and armor to every vendor that has weapons and armor period. This is priced as a large fall expansion however we have had 20 dollar expansions in the past that are more competent to the player base.
Gear is the most important thing about this game and you want us to use the gnawing hunger again? Add the damn shadow price if you wanna recycle stuff. Theres so much gear in that "vault" bungie has but we continue to use the same shit d2 has had in the game for years. If bungie wants to recycle they need to use more of their assets. It would be so easy to add some d1 weapon models with some fresh roles and call them new weapons. But no we have to grind for the same looking shit for another year. Thats pathetic in my opinion. The game has too much potential to be simplified like this. Bungie apologists please save your breath.
Again I find myself wondering what even makes this expansion worth 40$. Do we really think bungie is saving some content for a surprise? I dont. I'm gonna play it but it just feels like bungie really doesn't know what they're doing. The game could be so much better but they choose to give us mediocre content because we eat it up every time. If they have time to add new armor sets to eververse every season then there's no excuse for no vendor refresh.

2 RepliesThey are focused on their new ip. That's why prices spiked. They let Activision ruin the game, and instead of fixing it with their vision. They are trying to just move on. Partnered with another shady company, rinse and repeat. I bet the next game will either be gotcha or ptw. Chinese companies doing it very well.

Wow. No vendor refresh and no new pvp maps yet theyre removing a ton of weapons and pvp maps. I hear we are only getting 1 new strike too and only 3/4 new sets of armour. It is a very sad time if this is true and thats from a loyalist of 6 years. Things are looking dire from this once optimist. Hope bungie prove us wrong and have some vendor refreshes and new pvp maps in BL. I cant believe we have the same items from shaxx and zavala for 3 years+

97 RepliesWe get more weapons every year in D2 than we did in D1. In D1 vendor refreshes were pretty much the only source of new guns. They were reskins too. People complain about one reskinned sniper in D2. I can only imagine if they did 25 like back in d1. Rather than getting a bunch of reskinned weapon where maybe one or two will get used, I’d rather get the current seasonal and planetary weapons that we get now.

19 RepliesCorrection, Luke Smith continues to strip down all the features of the game. Personally, I don't think he has any idea of what he is actually doing to the game or just doesn't care. I wish he would make up his mind about what the game is and where it is actually going because here it is 3 years later and right now? "Destiny" is no more than a carnival, I would say circus but a circus is actually a hell of a lot more organized.

HUGE mistake doing this. Taking away a LARGE amount of content people paid for, then releasing only a small amount of content to try and make up for it? You said certain things will be reintroduced later in year 4, but what part of "Later"? If you think it will be closer to the year 5 mark, I fear you may not have much of a player base to bring it back to. I've been a big fan of you guys ever since Halo: Combat Evolved made it's debut, and while I wasn't a fan of you passing that torch on to 343 Industries, I stayed with you guys through Destiny and Destiny 2, but I gotta say, you've lost me here. I'm not putting any more of my money into a game that eventually takes the content away that has already been paid for, just to introduce a lesser amount of content in it's place, and half, or most of that content is just going to be a rehash from Destiny 1. I thought you guys splitting from Activision was an awesome move on your part, but this kind of move screams Activision. I'm just not buying into it. After November, I'll come back now and again to check on the state of the game, in hopes that this move didn't kill the game outright, but I won't spend another cent until I hear something that doesn't sound like your trying to screw over your player base. If I buy in to a game I want to be able to play what I paid for, plain and simple.

Hell, a portion of it is free and you are losing content you paid for previously. Add to he fact that it's $40 with another $10 for the season. You are kinda getting rooked.

I also think its stupid how they are bringing old content from d1 to d2 its absolutely pathetic I get that they want destiny 2 to be all of destiny in one place but if I wanted to play vault of glass I could just go play destiny 1. Nobody is going to be able to go back and play through this game in the future because all of the destiny 2 content wont even exist anymore. I can go back to destiny 1 and play every story mission, raid, strike, dlc mission, and quest all over again right now. You cant do that in destiny 2. and yet they say they want this game to "last longer." what a joke.

Get it on gamepass, or wait 2-3 weeks for it to be heavily discounted. There are too many games where the developers actually give a damn to keep enabling Bungie's shitty development practices by spending money on their crap expansions. (Then having them spit in your face by telling you that this is a free to play game. After you just spent $50 on an expansion. Lmao)

2 RepliesI’d be happy if they brought back armour and weapons from D1 to the vendors. Especially to Salad Bar. But then we would complain that we’re paying for our old gear back again. It’s an awful cycle that Bungo has gotten themselves into.

2 RepliesI have almost 10000 crucible tokens. I’ll probably spend a thousand or two to get some new armor, and then hoard again. I just dont understand why it’s so difficult to use assets from D1 to inject some freshness. I don’t care what the new weapons are as long as they’re different.

2 RepliesThey have also made it so you cannot use the vendors to help you level up , so that’s them never getting used again. But this is probably because there’s next to no new content and they want to stretch everything out as far as possible.
