Haven't gotten to max gear light in any season, due to the useless RNG. Anyone else?
Like, I have 8 x 1060 Energy weapons, yet two slots I never have gotten 1060 for. It pisses me off that you do these mundane pinnacle activities over and over, and you just get slapped in the face by a game working against you.
Almost makes me regret paying for the game w/ Forsaken, but certainly not for not buying anything else. And I won't support Bungie in the future either.
Edit: Thanks for all the input, the negative ones too. I know I could have taken more measures to get more 1060 rolls than I did. I'll keep your comments in mind, if this game is for me or not going forward.

I got to 1060 on my warlock I don’t know why I needed to be 10 levels above hardcap ,I guess only for master nightfalls,which I only run if a quest requires it I just run Pit for upgrade mats

I’m a solo who only does the pinnacles. 2 of 3 characters at 1060/1094 with artifact. Honestly it’s just a number. In iron banner I felt no power difference between 1059 and 1060.

How? I got my 3 characters to 1060 base and then did it again on my sons account. It doesn't matter right now though... in 4 days you will be getting blues at 1070

1 ReplyI always accidental delete my 1060 gear out of habit. Upgrade modules are expensive to obtain especially with 3 characters. And the seasonal artifact pushes you way beyond enough to carry 1055 gear. So why bother. The difference between a 1059 and 1060 is non-existent.

Should work, or go through you season pass, maybe missed some armor? Also can add me on PSN, me and my buddy two man the dungeons and harder nightmare hunts, those are plus 2 pinnacles, so eh.

That moment when somebody actually tries climbing rank... Seriously though, it's useless. It gets reset back at the end of the season, and a boost is given at the start of the next. Already past hard cap? Cool, now most rewards are useless. Getting about +10% over highest activity is about as useful as it gets. Never bothered grinding, and have never had an issue with the next set of "content."

I haven't hit max light because I'm lazy about it. Since Bungie just announced that 1050 is the new 750, I have absolutely zero reason to continue the pinnacle grind.

The rng isn't that bad, even with terrible rng its pretty easy to get max a month in doing all your pinnacles. Edit- no endgame so I dont understand the chase or complaint. Plus only 1 character.

I made it for the first and most likely last time because of the extended season. Was on 1059 for like a week or so.

8 RepliesReading some of the posts in this thread and then looking at the players history indicates It's not rng that is an issue. The issue is players only doing a fraction of the weekly pinnacle activities and the ones they do are are mostly +1. There are enough pinnacle sources to hit max light rather quickly. A majority that complain about rng don't do the activities that will get you to max light.

I have gotten dozens of pinnacle drops for everything else but mostly (like 80% of them) are class items and kinetic weapons. I don’t really care though....have not really been trying that hard...it’s a stupid system.

This isn’t much of a secret but I’ll put it out there anyways. Pit of heresy boss drops only pinnacle armor drops with zero chance of weapons. If anyone is like me all my pinnacle drops are energy weapons so this will mitigate the chances of useless special weapon drops.

1 ReplyTwo of my characters have been stuck at the base power level 1059 since the Summer. Today I ran the Interference mission after avoiding it for well over a month. Once again I had no progress. I will not waste time running the mission on the other character. This is very annoying.

I don’t really play my warlock or Titan very much , but it took 10 weeks to get the last drop to go from 1059 to 1060. 40+ pinnacle drops for a pair of boots. Interference, crucible, strikes, PoH dungeon. When I could I would also run prophecy and haunted forest. As bad as my rng luck was I figured I would roll into beyond light still needing a pair of damned boots.

Todays 1080 nf drops were: 1059 gloves 1059 exotic gloves My gloves... Were 1059 already

I generally quit somewhere around the soft cap but occasionally I make it a bit further this last one I took forever to even hit the softcap the grinds just haven't been that compelling now they want me to grind for the exact same weapons and gear again, which just makes me sigh and ask what is the true point of these grinds?

Stuck needing a heavy right now. But I just don't give a -blam!- anymore. There's no point. The next season always defeats the purpose of the previous.
