-Obsidian Radiance Temper Effect (including those applied on weapons)
That’s on the list of items being automatically removed with BL. I can understand taking the ones in the inventory, but why take off the glows from our weapons? It will serve no purpose (bonus damage in forges), but it makes them look really cool, and I still plan on using BA weapons in control. If there’s a reason why it’s being removed from being equipped on weapons that would make sense but it seems like such a odd and useless thing to take away.
Yes it’s a petty little thing, but it’s something that makes an already unique set of weapons look even more unique, we love glows.
Not the hill I’ll die on, but just something I’ll miss seeing when I pull out my kindled orchid in control and comp.

Some say they don't get it, I do, it's what they did in D1. They removed things or nerfed things to the ground to make them unappealing in hopes you will use the "new weapons". (This company spends way too much time looking for what doesn't work for the game instead of what does.) And some Bungie fans wonder why some are upset about a lot of the deliberate poor decisions they make. it's just a question, but what do they really get out of making deliberate poor decisions like this? because that doesn't make me say, oh! this is ugly now, I think I'm going to look for a new weapon 🤦♂️

I made a post earlier suggesting that they transfer the glows over and tie them to the weapon masterwork. Say you got a Kindled Orchid and then you Masterwork it to 10. You'll get the glow added on as a nice bonus.
-
Whaaaaaa?!?! Nooooooo! This is the first I'm hearing about this. 😢
-
2 RepliesSo they can “sell “ something similar back later probably...
-
Not what anybody wants to hear but if they're removing all the unique assets from BA to make space, that's one of the unique assets.
-
I think it’s to reduce space the same way they are taking the ramen coupon. I wish it would stay too as I like the affect. The should at least offer an option to turn the glow on or off under the shader section

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I also plan on using BA weapons in 1050 activities, and I am also mad they are taking radiance away Some of these decisions you wonder if they just don’t think them through ,or just don’t look that far into it , or can’t take the consumable away without stripping them from the weapons Either way, my ringing nail won’t look has badass -
3 RepliesBecause Bungie is only happy when the player base is unhappy.
-
Bungie's probably getting rid of the obsidian radiance temper effect so that they won't have to worry about the bonus damage if they ever decide to take forges out of the DCV and reintroduce them later down the road.
-
They're deleting Obsidian Radiance as an item in the game so it makes sense for it to be removed from everything and everyone.
-
I'm assuming they're mass-deleting these items from their live servers, so even the applied items & their effects will be removed since they won't exist.
-
4 RepliesThere's only a handful of weapons from the forges.. Apply them to your weapons so you don't lose the ability to apply it
-
because they must delete over 3 years of content for a single expansion just a little larger than shadowkeep
-
Wait what? They're taking it away even if it's applied to your weapon??? Whyyyy? I mean it's just like an additional glowy effect now with the forges gone so there's nothing that affects gameplay...
-
Yeah im sad too, ill still be using my faithful BA sword whenever I can where LL doesnt matter. Striker is my baby, and the Radiance effect on it only cemented that for me even more :/
-
2 RepliesCus it tastes like purple
-
Why? Because they can.
-
Cos there's milk in a coconut.
Not the hill I’ll die on, but just something I’ll miss seeing when I pull out my kindled orchid in control and comp.
Lol, you get my upvote just because your phrasing is awesome!! I also agree 100%! What other hand cannon roles with Kill Clip and Rampage?
-
1 ReplyKinda sucks, but oh well. At least they aren't outright removing the weapons from the entire game, I can live without its cosmetic value.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Kemaleon: 11/3/2020 3:46:59 PMWell, this is Bungie so lets think about this with Bungie in mind: Beyond light will be bringing some new activities, at least one of them is probably a forge-type horde mode and its mechanics are probably taken straight from Forge, a reskin if you like. Which means the Obsidian Radiance will probably work in there, I mean Bungie could probably change the code to disable it but you know programming is hard right? So its easier to just remove the thing then they won't look like idiots when someone figures it out, and the forums become flooded by people demanding their Forge weapons from collections. Just a thought though, probably not true, right? Oh, it also helps to keep the database trim and light for quicker loading. Anyone who's ever kept a database or records of some kind knows an occasional purge is very necessary. Oh one more thing, I agree about the look of it on the weapons. We should get it as a toggle option or an ornament perhaps. We won't though.
-
It's ridiculous - why do they come up with pointless changes like this to p*ss veteran players off? How does this benefit the game or anyone. FFS.
-
Because bungo likes to take away nice things. Always has and will always be this way.
-
3 RepliesAlso, why are they taking my fusion rifles?
-
Nice cosmetic effect, perhaps a shader could be made with same look.
-
7 RepliesI mean, its purpose is to give weapons more damage in Forges. And uh, Forges are going away and their weapons will be sunset. What's the point of keeping them?
