Guns need a 2.0 update

I hate saying this because it would make the random rolled weapons void but the most annoying thing about random rolls are the hours put into trying to get “the god rolls.” If you could factor in grinding out weapon mods through kills, players could actually get better with the guns they practice with. It would give players a reason to master their unique loadouts as the ultimate “killing machines”. Exotic weapons could even have customizable traits to make their capabilities even more unique. Would everything be essentially “OP” because anyone could swap out mods? Yes. Would it balance every weapon? Maybe! Plus, it would at least save players time on grinding for weapons that would eventually get sunseted anyways. Plus players would get to experiment with what they like. Not everyone wants rampage and outlaw on their weapons, some people prefer other mods. Anyways, let me know what your thoughts are.

      • Lets see if I can summarize your points correctly: - You hate random rolls because RNG. - You want weapon mods - The mods we equip? - The perks on weapons? - To be grinded out by playing with the weapon? - You believe this in turn will make people understand the weapons they are using better. - You want exotics to have ''Customizable traits''. - You question the integrity of your idea. - You make a sweeping statement that not everyone wants outlaw and rampage on their weapons. Well. I say no. You are possible in luck with the rampage and outlaw thing because I have seen a rumour that Bungie intends to be removing damage perks from the pool, to focus on creating more interesting options. They already added two new perks this season and I am excited to see what they will create in the future, with the deprecation and restriction of: - Deprecation of Gambit Prime armour bonus - Deprecation of Armament mods - Restriction of Last wish mods to only work there. No longer designing content around having them is a +1 for me. Leaves a ton of room for new combat sandbox tuning.

        • What are you arguing for? Fixed weapon rolls....or mods? Doesn't matter, because my answer to both is "No." 1. Fixed weapon rolls were tried by Bungie for vanilla D2...and it was such a disaster that it nearly destroyed the franchise. While what you're askigng for sounds attractive to PVP players who want to spend very little time in PVE and just want to play PVP.....it will DESTROY the PVE side of the game. Where MUCH of the game's replay value in PVE comes from random loot, and the fun of grinding for the "right" version of gear you want. 2. Mods aren't the answer either, because that isn't Destiny....that's Warframe. Which would reduce the game to grinding for mods, ungrade materials, etc.... Which would also wreck the game, because Destiny isn't designed for that kind of play. ...and it appeals to different kind of player than the people who enjoy this game.

            • I do not think weapons need a redo. People were really mad at static rolls, and they would rather have bad RNG than a static roll.
